Perkins was nicked up coming into the game and despite being in pain continued to try and play through it. Sure it was annoying watching him come out as much as he did but they aren't going to hold him out if he says he can go. He is our second best OL. Not sure you can tell a guy trying to play through injury to toughen up.

I'm not sure who you mean by Hughes. Cameron isn't on the team anymore. Did you mean Hodges? I was pleasantly surprised by both him and Anderson also Rodriguez as well. They all filled in nicely.

Warren was way too tentative. He just needs to go downhill like Foreman does. We have a change of pace back, K. Johnson, they just didn't use him. Eventually the flares out to the RBs will be used. I assume once we face a team that will blitz from the edge.

Hughes missed that tackle but Wheeler also guessed wrong on which gap to fill and was out of position to make the play. 2nd TD wasn't on Haines. Hall and Davis didn't communicate and blew that coverage.

I'm glad we kept the 18 wheeler package but I think we went to it to much. It should continue to be a situational thing. Going to it in the 3rd Q helped stall the offense, along with too much Warren to save Foreman's legs for the 4th quarter. Short yardage plays and redzone opportunities is about the extent I want to see the 18 wheeler package going forward.
Perk got poked in the eye, went off the field, then took a knee like a foot from the sidelines. Coaches had to tell him to get up and get off the field b/c we had some momentum and he was causing us to slow down the offense. He came out the game 3x for different things. Nothing serious so he could have played through some knicks, JMO. He's an upperclassman with NFL potential, he needs to play.

According to OB, Kirk is still not fully back from his ACL injury. They're saying he's going to be out a little longer than expected. Can't wait to get the backs involved in the passing game.

Y'all think the D-line coach Brick Haley is gonna get any heat if the D-line continues to struggle to get pressure? LSU fans been saying he ain't any good.
Nah I don't think so. That was an NFL oline we played on Monday. That team top to bottom was bigger than us.

We need to dominate UTEP in the trenches and do the same vs Cal.

I've been to almost two dozen games at DKR since I was a kid, that was the best atmosphere of any game I've attended. In high school, I got to come down for the OSU game in '06, that was the only one compared to this "big game" field. Perrin has done a good job reorganizing the stadium so the students are more involved and the band are back where they used to be in the northeast corner of the stadium. Walking into the stadium, I got to meet Earl Campbell while he was chilling in his car. The man has the best parking spot at DKR.

ND fans were a mix of northeast meatheads, catholic school preps, and families that look like they were casted for the movie Rudy. They're a knowledgeable group, a little entitled, but overall good people.

I said in here before the game I was more worried about the defense than the offense. Bedford is still suspect imo. The dline is the weakness of the team and still lacking elite talent. Hoping we can continue to rotate freshmen in that group.

Hughes is a guy who deserves to start somewhere on this oline. Perkins needs to toughen up. He gets nicked every quarter. Injuries are going to be a constant problem for Nickelson at his height - 6'9. Shack is going to be a great player in a couple of years. Love the Foreman twins - they personify that Texas swagger that's been missing around here lately. Warren is too big IMO. I was surprised he got so much PT. Texas could really use a change of pace back.

Damn I guess dikkson just needed a year to get acclimated. Breh was a game changer. Charlie HAS to improve his time mgmt on the sidelines. Not taking a timeout on that critical extra point was UNACCEPTABLE. No matter how much we love the man, none of us can defend that. Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised with the improvements in special teams. That boy Kris Boyd was looking to start fights on every punt/kick coverage.

Brehs notice how many of the critical errors were caused by Mack guys - Hughes missed the tackle on the big run, Haines was late on the 2nd TD, Shane's INT went through Warrick's hands.....:beli:

The night belonged to Swoopes. Man that kid has taken so much unnecessary heat. 3 coordinators, burned red shirt....this is not his fault. I was so happy for him. The stadium was cheering his name throughout the game. I thought Gilbert could have gone to him more. Speaking of Gilbert, can't wait to see this offense on full go. He obviously only used 20-25% of the playbook last night.

They did a lot of experimenting with different personnel groups. I expect that to continue the next two weeks before they settle on the real starters for big 12 season.
Happy you had a great time at the game bro

where do you usually get tickets?

Nah Brick is fine, and he is a better recruiter than Bo. So I'd stick with Brick, only other person should be considered is Hurtt, and I don't think the UT brass will ever allow it.

Bo couldn't recruit at UT and out DL play was nothing special. Now he's in the NFL after resigning at Bama. Our end play was great then, but remember Oscar Giles coached DEs for Mack. Bedford simply uses a different strategy. Seems he'd prefer 3 DL most of the time or at least a much bigger SDE with a DT and NG in his 3-3-5. Makes sense. Plug the run and have a Fox type that's good in space or do it with the Linebackers. Get pressure with confusion if the Fox isn't a badass. We didn't have the personnel for this until now. When it works, it looks great. When it breaks down, it looks bad. We simply haven't seen it yet with a badass at Fox.

I been wanting to ask this Sunday night...

:patrice: Where did all these Black Women at the ND game come from? I've never seen this much Black Women EVER at a UT home game. @dtownreppin214 & @houston911 swore that the only Black students at UT are athletes & Immigrants.
