Legends shows and reunions or whatever isn't a problem and has nothing to do with the real problem which is WWE's ability to create new stars.

Half the legends weren't even legends..Melina, Kelly Kelly, Torrie, Kaitlyn, Hurricane, Santino...come on. Like Sami's character said, they were just supporting characters during a great WWE run. This was only an excuse to trot out DX, NWO, Flair, Cena, Hogan, and of course, Austin. And that's fine. No one wouldn't mind these type of shows if WWE was still able to create the next wave of stars. However, one has nothing to do with the other. Them celebrating legends and using them for nostalgia/ratings doesn't equate to them not being able to build new legends.

WWE is one of the best revisionist history companies anyway, these same superstars of today who are apart of this era where WWE's numbers are nosediving will be on the "Legends Celebration" shows in 2035.

Every wrestler was a mark for someone. Old and new.
This pretty much, to say the old guys weren't marks is a lie because most were. Difference is the business was different, they wouldn't allow themselves to look weak like this. The business seemed much more cut throat, guys would kill their own mother to keep their spot, this new generation is just happy to be there. The old guys grew up marks but when they got into the business, they learned the only person they should be marking out for us themselves, this new generation never got the memo.

Remember when New Day, who was at the height of their popularity and the tag team champions, lost at Wrestlemania to the extremely heatless League of Nations, who then got beat up by an aging Austin, Mick Foley and HBKKK, then Xavier ate a stunner for no reason?

Remember when the Ascension, fresh on the main roster after being the longest reigning NXT tag champs, and were booked as a dominant heel tag team, got punked by the APA and New Age Outlaws, and have been running jokes and stuck in catering ever since?

Remember when they had to fly out AJ Styles last minute to put over Finn Balor on ppv, and then Finn got squashed the next night by fukking Kane of all people?

Good times.
