Because players of Zion's ability don't come around too often, and they sure as hell don't ever wanna go to N.O. as a free agent.
The real crime here is, how they enabled his bad habits and didn't see this coming from Day 1. They should've altered his game the moment they drafted him, getting him to drop weight, forcing him to become a more perimeter-based player instead of playing in the paint all the time. His body was a ticking timebomb and nobody did anything to stop it from going off.
Everybody around him failed him.
what benefit does the team trading for Zion get?I don't follow the NBA closely anymore but man....how come teams don't trade star players more like in the NFL. What benefit does NO gain from going through this every season? Trade him.
with the Pelicans it's worse because it feels like they have what a big time star needs without the star itself.Another thing is because of all their injuries the Pelicans can easily convince themselves "Next year when we healthy it's gonna be different" but 6 seasons later they've got nothing to show for it
I know NBA fans can be way too trigger happy with the "blow it up" talk but for me I think it's time for the Pelicans to move on from this core. Just a waste of everyone's time pretending their season isn't going to go the same way it always does
Another thread ending in a W for me? You cotdamn right. Word to @CantStop.I can already tell judging by the comments, this is going to be another "Julius Randle vs Jabari Parker" thread
