Now that Didi is reuniting with Joe in Philly, I wish him the best, and he should a rousing ovation when he comes back.

He developed into a solid 2-way player. He was clutch. A fan favorite. But most importantly, personality wise, he was a breath of fresh air compared to the corporate, stiff, robotic demeanor of Jeter. I'm happy he was the guy to replace him.
Every contender needs a guy who keeps the atmosphere fun. They’re absolutely going to need someone else to fill that role just as much as having a lefty bat. Hope he has a better year in philly than these last two in the Bronx.

:salute:to Didi

He's good in NY forever just based on what he did during that 2017 playoff run alone.

Twins probably happy af he's out of the AL.
The last 17 years should prove that as long as there’s an NY on their hat, it doesn’t matter who the batter is :lolbron:

they’re also basically the only team we can beat in October for the last 15 years minus 2009 :martin:

My pops is crushed. Didi was his favorite player. team got a little less likable today.

We're gonna lose a lot of these fun players in the next year or so. Gleyber's probably be the main hyped up guy in that lineup going forward

it really does suck so Cashman and Co better have something up their sleeves because it will be hard to match his presence

Salute to Didi for his time in pinstripes and will always wish the breh well. The team chemistry just took a major hit. Wish they could've made it work, but seems that the team didn't think his shoulder would recover fully. Girardi might grab both Didi and Betances, if Beltran doesn't grab him first.

That being said, IF Cole does sign, and when we get rid of Happ, does Cashman go after Lindor to replace Didi? We have the players and prospects to make it work.

The infield is pretty crowded right now even without Didi. Luke, Gio, Andujar, DJ, and Torres.

Can't get Lindor w/o giving up Gleyber, because you know that's who the Indians are gonna ask for first.

And yet Cashman still signed DJLM last offseason with a crowded infield.... There was no position for him when we signed him.

I got a feeling that Cole is the big-fish, Gardner will re-sign, but Cashman will still want to flex his muscles and pull off a couple of trades. We still have a lot of quality surplus in Andujar, Frazier, Loisiaga, Abreu, King, Gil, Florial to start. Happ somehow has trade value for teams who need starting pitching and his contract isn't too crazy. German will probably see a 20-30 game suspension, then he's back. Montgomery will need to re-establish himself and his value. Just saying.

After Cole, Cashman has to put together some finesse trades and unload Frazier and probably Andujar just so the other team doesn’t feel like they got fukked. Toss in some no name prospects as garnish and keep the foot on the gas pedal all winter. Bullshyt ass teams like the Phillies are showing that they want to try to be a major player this offseason so it makes no sense to sit and wait to see what’s left.

fukk waiting til pitchers and catchers report to want to make a move. Sign these dudes now, show existing team that you’re committed to building a legit contender and let’s do the damn thing.

fukking Yankees season ticket reps have been calling and emailing me for the last 4 weeks about purchasing a package because they know that I went to 2 playoff games in October and I straight up told them that they can’t expect me to spend money if this team hasn’t done shyt up to this point.

They all can ask, and I can't blame them, but they will lose Lindor in 2 seasons to free agency. They can tighten up their team with a massive Torres-less, multiple team-controlled quality haul.
