on one hand i never thought his first 2 albums were anything special but that 94-96 run is pretty much unfukkwitable. the fact that he hated on "me against the world" when that's the usual "non-2pac fans" favorite album from him makes me skeptical if he's being unbiased towards dude?

I think the west coast nikkaz always had love for the east coast until the east coast started acting all pompous about the "culture".NY is the media center of hip hop.They shytted on the west coast first by saying the west coast wasn't really hip hop---it was all thugs, gangstas, and hoodlums.

Even though at the time, the west coast was crushing buildings, and keeping hip hop relevant.Back when Ice Cube was in his prime and Dr.Dre dropped the Chronic/introduced snoop.

Back then, west coast cats showed east coast nikkaz major love.. wasn't until the west coast started to blow up that some of the WC artist started getting the snob treatment from the east coast media.

EC turned their nose up to nikkaz who idolized them on some "hip hop purist" shyt... and thats that's what sparked the tension....shyt just came to a culmination at the '95 Source Awards.The west just wanted acceptance, but the east wasn't trying to hear it.At least the EC media, that is.I'm sure there was a lot of common folk back east bumping The Chronic.

I find the whole "Thug Angel" schtick to be fukking hilarious, but Im a big fan of his catalog and his message.
