Was re-watching some old NWA matches. The first noticeable influence of Jim Herd was at the Capital Combat PPV when they had Robocop protecting Sting from the 4 Horsemen. :mjtf:

They still has great wrestling matches with great workers like Flair, Windham, Muta, etc. but Herd started to transition into a shytty low budget child-oriented imitation of the WWF. That PPV also featured Norman the Lunatic and El Gigante had recently been introduced, both WWF-like caricatures. And the stupid black scorpion angle had started.

Herd was :trash: He was even worst than Russo. At least Russo inherited a sinking ship. Herd inherited a great product with a dedicated core fan base and turned it into shyt. It was a slow drift from great classic purist wrestling to intelligence-insulting lame fukkery.

Since then, the only bright spot that company had was the early half of the Monday night wars from about 95-97. Before that it was Jim Herd then that racist piece of shyt Bill Watts running the show. Bischoff had a spark when he started. Then Russo put the nail in the coffin.

I feel bad for all the young fans that missed the territory days and the Monday Night Wars......all they know is WWE and IMO, WWE has been pretty much trash the last 15 years or so and there are some fans who never even got to see the WWE at it's best or experience good wrestling at all. I really feel bad for them.

That’s the only shyt I ever cared about in wrestling is the territory era and the Monday night wars. I haven’t watched wrestling regularly since about 2001.
