The Southern Style of wrestling and talking provided balance to the Northeast scene. And if I can be real with ya'll for a moment, WCW's death was a sign that I wasn't a kid anymore.

When you become an adult, you realize the ugly truth that things that you love die. Not from dramatic things like shootings or cancer...but they die because we don't take care of them.

By that point, WCW was trash, but you always expected it to provide something better in the future. Real sad day, then and now.

I miss it. The business misses it. Even if the product was on the down slope towards the end(I still am :dwillhuh: at some of the stuff I've seen to forgotten)I wish WCW would have stuck around:to:

WCW at it's worst in the 90's is still better than anything WWE has done in the last 10 years.

Brock Lesner now has all of Pro Wrestling on his back.

It's sad now but I bet at the time most people were excited and couldn't wait to see the invasion stuff.

It only seems so sad in retrospect because it lead to the steady decline in quality over the past 14 years.

They wanted to see an Invasion with the top guys from WCW, not the watered down version we got. Had that Invasion Main Event been Sting, Goldberg, Hogan, Flair, Savage vs Austin, Rock, Taker, Trips and Angle.

They were better off holding off the Invasion angle until most of the contracts expired. NWO and everyone came over like the next year or so if I remember correctly

Pretty much everyone eventually did. When they did it, triple H and Goldberg were out injured anyway. Biggest blown angle in wrestling history

This is the dikkhead who ruined pro wrestling.
Even in it's sorriest state, WCW still delivered higher ratings for TNT and TBS than anything else they aired at the time and if they were still going to be guaranteed a time slot on at least one of those two channels then the sale to Bischoff and his partners could have gone through. But Kellner didn't want the pro wrestling viewer demographic when he took over Turner's TV side and just outright cancelled it.
Dude also was the genius who cancelled the Superman and Batman animated series, Pinky & The Brain, Freakazoid and a bunch of other cool cartoons.

Ted's fault for doing all them mergers..kept diluting his ownership. Then the AOL guys were fukking morons. He shoulda stayed independent :dame:
