Dangerous Alliance was the greatest wrestling stable of all time if you base it around in-ring abilities.
Arn Anderson, Beautiful Bobby, Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Larry Z. Not a weak link in there. Paul Heyman as the leader/promo man. Madusa was the bytch in the trenches.
Their matches with Sting, Steamboat, Windham, Dustin, etc.. owned. The War Games match was incredibly bloody.
Plus you had Vader running around destroying dudes
wcw's ringwork was always better than the wwf's period. the wwf didnt pass them in ringwork until 2000 when they brought over a bunch of wcw and ecw dudes.WCW in ring work up until 1994 > WWF
yep. the o.g. light-heavyweight division. i remember they were neck-n-neck with gwf's division. but if i have to pick one, i'd probably be forced to say wcw had the slightly better division off the strength of liger. i also remember a young raven was running chit in both divisions.and i didnt even mention dudes like ron simmons, cactus jack, jake the snake, johny b. badd, nikita koloff, abdullah the butcher, the young pistols, butch reed, marcus bagwell, the york foundation, greg valentine & terry taylor with the u.s. tag titles, the good ole 6-man tag title matches, plus the freebirds & junkyard dog getting their last run.and how about when steve williams & terry gordy came in and had the steiner brothers' number?remember the super invader?Thats when i started to LOVE wrestling. I knew about wwf first but all the dudes you mentioned all at the same time? Jushin Thunder Liger nikka!
yea. i watched every promotion that came on tv, but the wwf was my favorite. yet and still, despite that and the fact that wwf was getting the most money, i always kinda looked at wcw as being the most official promotion. it was like watching a real sport most of the time, the matches were superior, things were a lil more serious and the wrestlers were really "swagged out" on some real chit as if they were rappers. and the way that the crowds would be amped just took the cake.I didn't grow up on WCW that early in the 90s (started really checkin' when Hogan signed in '94 ), but whenever I watched some matches on 24/7 or DVDs, that was the first thing I noticed
specifically the end of '91 and the bulk of '92. it was kind of before its time.
they used to have the crowds ROCKIN. then you had all the hyper-swag wrestling of sting, rick rude, steamboat, steiners, dangerous alliance, vader, luger, rhodes & windham, pillman, etc. the chemistry between alot of the workers was off the charts too.
and dont even get me started on the string of classic ppvs they had from starrcade to superbrawl to wrestlewar to beach blast. and thats not even counting the clashes dating back to before & after those ppvs.
...and all of that talent was wasted on poor presidents like Jim Herd and Bill Watts, who completely alienated the roster.
Herd's incompetence pissed off Flair to the point of leaving for WWF with the damn world title, not to mention running off the Legion of Doom in 1990.
Watts actively attempted to KILL the promotion by banning top rope moves, the heel/face dichotomy, and mats outside of the ring.
