specifically the end of '91 and the bulk of '92. it was kind of before its time.

they used to have the crowds ROCKIN. then you had all the hyper-swag wrestling of sting, rick rude, steamboat, steiners, dangerous alliance, vader, luger, rhodes & windham, pillman, etc. the chemistry between alot of the workers was off the charts too.

and dont even get me started on the string of classic ppvs they had from starrcade to superbrawl to wrestlewar to beach blast. and thats not even counting the clashes dating back to before & after those ppvs.

Yeah... that roster was whoopin' WWF's ass at that point... It was an elite roster, and they were all working with each other perfectly. The people at the bottom of the card weren't about shyt for the most part, but all the main players at the time were on point. Classic times. They had a strong nucleus of talent and they were smart to run with them.

Dangerous Alliance was the greatest wrestling stable of all time if you base it around in-ring abilities.

Arn Anderson, Beautiful Bobby, Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Larry Z. Not a weak link in there. Paul Heyman as the leader/promo man. Madusa was the bytch in the trenches.

Their matches with Sting, Steamboat, Windham, Dustin, etc.. owned. The War Games match was incredibly bloody.

Plus you had Vader running around destroying dudes

Hogan and his band of goons ruined it for me.

As soon as I saw Jim Duggan show up and beat Steve Austin in like 30 seconds for the United States championship, I had a :beli: look on my face. Even as a kid.

Beefcake
Honky Tonk Man
The Steve Austin-Duggan tragedy
Ric Flair being jobbed to Hogan
Throwing the Giant off a 5 story building and he survived angle

I could go on and on about that chump Hogan

I hate how fast they squandered that roster tho'. A lineup like that, you should have no problem having a constantly great program. BUT... when they had THAT roster, by the time Halloween Havoc rolled around, who was feuding for the WCW title? Ron Simmons and The Barbarian :snoop: No dis to them, and of course no hate for the Simmons title run... but it was almost doomed to fail when you look at who else is on the roster around that same time. Ron shoulda been feuding with the Alliance, and teaming with Sting and the rest of them dudes. Instead he's beefin' with The Barbarian and a flabby-n-sick Tony Atlas. :wtf: It was bound to get overshadowed and that's exactly what happened.

I didn't grow up on WCW that early in the 90s (started really checkin' when Hogan signed in '94 :smugfavre:), but whenever I watched some matches on 24/7 or DVDs, that was the first thing I noticed :krs:
