The hell it didn't. Watch the Spiderman crossover, they look way better. Don't even compare it to Batman.

X-Men TAS had hits and misses in animation particularly the 1st two seasons, but the hits were better than Spider-man. Off the top of my head, the episodes with Lady Deathstrike, The Phoenix Saga, Apocalypse kidnapping all the psychics, all look way better than anything Spider-Man ever did
