No, the original Stephen King's ending was anticlimactic. They drove off into the mist and it was up in the air whether they survived or not.

As for the movie's ending even Stephen Kings said he was shocked and that he should have thought of that conclusion. shyt was brutal.

At least it would keep you guessing. This just left me like

When they drove into the mist I thought that's how it was going to end (that was before I read King's short) and it had me :rudy: and it felt predictable

I've already seen a bunch of media with the "keep you guessing" ending. So when dude clapped the old folks, the potential love interest and his own son without a bullet to spare for himself that shocked me.

To top it off the woman he refused to help survived and found her daughter with the :smugfavre:

I mean not too many good guy protagonists get shytted on like that for an ending.
