Am I the only one who had to think about what 'No Church Left Behind' was :heh:?

Nah...what does it mean? I have the album but I haven't had had a listening session where I've sat down and dissected each song. I haven't seen the video either, tbh I didn't read the initial post.....what's the fuss about?

this might be the type of post that gets a nikka flagged by the feds, but fukk it. at some point, someone is going to have to make that great sacrifice for the rest of humanity. that person, no matter their race, will have to suck it up and take a huge L (it'll actually be a win, when taken within the greater context of the act and its ramifications on humanity) so that the people -- present and future generations -- are finally awakened from their stupor and motivated to respond to the obvious repression that's weighed down on the social advancement of humankind.

nelson mandela

martin luther king jr.

the annals of mankind are filled with the names of men and women who understood that great movements are fueled by the selfless acts of just one person. all of these people, including mandela (alive, despite being imprisoned for so long), took a stand in the face of odds which seemed horrifically insurmountable. the might of nations. the finances of banks. the wielders of so much power. these are the titans against which those men and women protested. they are the false gods we are born to accept as the only way for "civilization" to thrive.

but, they're just that: false, paper tigers that can be torn down. unfortunately, to do so, it is going to take a sacrifice by someone willing to say, "enough."

i'm writing this after watching that new video by jay-z and kanye, 'no church in the wild.' it clearly plays off the spirit of protest embodied by the arab spring and the occupy wall street movement. the energy of revolution can be felt, even as those aforementioned movements die out. the indignation born out by those mass protests continues to simmer, and i'm convinced it can reach a boiling point -- if someone is brave enough to turn the temperature up.

the current system is unsustainable. it is already collapsing before our eyes, though the powers that be prop it up with charades of stability. in spite of their efforts, the system teeters -- it welcomes the slightest push to send it falling down. who will be the one to extend his/her finger?

the centralization of wealth in this world has resulted in global fascism. 1984 is real. we are not free. but i believe that we can achieve freedom (no, i'm not a lupe stan). it just requires courage, leadership, and sacrifice.

great post :yes::yes::yes:

I'll say this again, the world we live in is an illusion. Obama and Romney represent the same team, they just have different colored jerseys.

i think romney would be worse, but i can respect where you're coming from. i'm definitely not a fan of obama. we need a real leader, a man or woman who will makes uncomfortable choices that aren't compromised at the urging of corporate masters. obama is not that person.

the climate is ripe for revolution. if black people mobilized and had actual logistics and planning behind their movement, they can ignite a firestorm of activism that will demand an answer. the answer may be violent, but there will be a response if we combine our might and start speaking up.

nah, obama is a sellout. he's far too comfortable being cozy with liberal cacs.

You nikkas that criticize Obama are AWFUL.

Dude is BI-RACIAL, yet unlike many mixed people, doesn't lean towards his white side, he married a black woman, doesnt hide that he likes rap music, basketball, drinking a beer and smoking a cig.

Did you think he was gonna come to every hood and throw out $100 dollar bills and be openly pro-negro on every issue and neglect the rest of every ethnicity in the United States?

I will NEVER, as a black person, ever criticize Obama b/c the alternatives haven't done any better. This country is the way it is b/c of the Bush's. It hasnt gotten much better under Obama but it's not any worse.

my criticism is more tied to his closeness with wall street. it's fairly obvious the man works at the behest of men occupying executive offices on wall street than your average american citizen. we have people out here struggling, but obama is pushing bailouts and subsidies for billionaires who make a living playing with the hard earned cash of people like you and me.

that's not right. that's not progressive. that's not revolutionary.that's aiding and abetting the criminal theft taking place on wall street.
