this might be the type of post that gets a nikka flagged by the feds, but fukk it. at some point, someone is going to have to make that great sacrifice for the rest of humanity. that person, no matter their race, will have to suck it up and take a huge L (it'll actually be a win, when taken within the greater context of the act and its ramifications on humanity) so that the people -- present and future generations -- are finally awakened from their stupor and motivated to respond to the obvious repression that's weighed down on the social advancement of humankind.

the annals of mankind are filled with the names of men and women who understood that great movements are fueled by the selfless acts of just one person. all of these people, including mandela (alive, despite being imprisoned for so long), took a stand in the face of odds which seemed horrifically insurmountable. the might of nations. the finances of banks. the wielders of so much power. these are the titans against which those men and women protested. they are the false gods we are born to accept as the only way for "civilization" to thrive.
but, they're just that: false, paper tigers that can be torn down. unfortunately, to do so, it is going to take a sacrifice by someone willing to say, "enough."
i'm writing this after watching that new video by jay-z and kanye, 'no church in the wild.' it clearly plays off the spirit of protest embodied by the arab spring and the occupy wall street movement. the energy of revolution can be felt, even as those aforementioned movements die out. the indignation born out by those mass protests continues to simmer, and i'm convinced it can reach a boiling point -- if someone is brave enough to turn the temperature up.
the current system is unsustainable. it is already collapsing before our eyes, though the powers that be prop it up with charades of stability. in spite of their efforts, the system teeters -- it welcomes the slightest push to send it falling down. who will be the one to extend his/her finger?
the centralization of wealth in this world has resulted in global fascism. 1984 is real. we are not free. but i believe that we can achieve freedom (no, i'm not a lupe stan). it just requires courage, leadership, and sacrifice.
