this is untrue. What I will say tho is there is a major problem going on in the city due to the lack of concern for well being during this pandemic Which left A LOT of people without a stable income.

There are so many homeless encampments now. We were just driving by union station and im wondering how can you have the US Capitol four blocks away from a homeless encampment? This is a violent nation against the poor.

She is being re-elected. She won the democratic primary with like 70% of the vote. She is awful though.

Should we put them on the electric chair?

I am not absolving the people who shot Robinson, but some of you brehs are saying insane things, which is predicable because a lot of you ingest pro-police, right wing insanity without realizing it.

I really do hope Robinson makes a full recovery and is able to play this year.
Please explain how people wanting criminals aptly punished is right wing rhetoric?

I've been trying to figure out the downsides to this for a few years now

If your kid is out running the streets at 16, you should be held legally responsible for it, period

There may need to be harsher penalties so that parents prioritize their children AND so that people who should not be having kids, don't have kids because they they realize "Hey, I'm not equipped to handle this responsibility"

In fact, this might be a thread...
the parents ain't shyt either :dead: that kind of thing works on kids who bring family guns to school to show off or something and parents who have the ability to provide better when it comes to mental health/counseling/etc but simply choose not to

That’s not politics

These fukkboys were going to kill someone over a car.
I'm not talking about politics either. I don't think we should be chopping off fingers and hands for crimes. I also don't believe in capital punishment.

I am not saying the perpetrators shouldn't be punished, but the stuff being written in this thread is unhinged, but not surprising because most people here ingest sports talk radio which is heavily right-wing and pro-police.

chopping off fingers comes from where again?
simple answer is throwing they ass in actual, logged and observed community service outside of their communities once established patterns develop - at length.

im with a lot of the 'more tangible punishment/correction' talk until the biblical retributions start coming up :dead:

I believe in intervention too.

My thing is this spike all started after Covid started which has fukked up income for a rack of people. I know there are a certain segment that are genuine psychopaths, but I believe most just need proper support and we need more services to support them. Services that are not police-ran.

yeahhhh but the thing about covid wasn't the income so much as the general decay of structure and growing inactivity of police as nationally there were bigger fish to fry. digging dead people out of homes, domestic violence skyrocketing, internal health and safety, etc.

dc cops were okay with letting these kids shoot at each other all day *before* the pandemic too.

its not an income thing as much as a lack of course correction until situations become impossible to ignore. its a reckless passivity disguised as positivity and second chances that created an environment where its okay to harm the right people. occasionally it spills over but its only occasionally so its whatever to far too many people.

I think we both are saying the same thing.

All of that decay that happened with the pandemic along with the police crying about not feeling loved after they killed George Floyd has brought this.

The answer isn’t more police and this nation over proportionally imprisons people, so “lock them up” isn’t a deterrent along with the insane religious justice that brehs in this thread are suggesting

Actually investing in children and helping the poor is an answer, along with proper intervention for those who are falling off the wagon.

I still don’t get how that sentiment is related to sports talk radio

Don’t forget the pandemic backed the courts up and with that city jails were becoming too crowded and expensive( the place you’re held until you get sent to prison)

Cities started giving everyone house arrest and with the trial being delayed due to the court backlog you just got criminals that would’ve been shipped off to prison back on the streets

Then you have schools closing because of the pandemic gave the OGs new crop of crash dummies to get to do things like Jack cars, steal guns and shoot at the opps

I stand by that schools should’ve never been closed because even if someone ain’t doing shyt in school their time is occupied
