Homie that dont make no sense:upsetfavre:

It doesn't make sense to retards. We've established that already.

Now, would your retarded ass care to explain why it doesn't make sense to you?

You don't know what contemplate means? You don't think it's possible to contemplate a team?

Chris Paul, Kobe, LeBron, Kevin Love and Dwight.

There I just contemplated a team.

And that makes no sense to you? Duly noted.

Were they really that good, or was the competition level of that era really that bad?

alotta of these guys were either average, past their prime or Michael Jordan.
The original Team
Michael Jordan - In his prime
Magic Johnson -Was retired
Larry Bird -Could barely play 20 mins a game due to his back injury
Patrick Ewing - good player
Karl Malone - in his prime
Clyde Drexler - good player
Charles Barkley - in his prime
Scottie Pippen - very good player
John Stockton - Good player
Chris Mullen - good player, but not "great" or Dream Team status
David Robinson - good player
Christian Laetner - lol

Dream Team 2 was better IMO.. if u take the players at the time they were selected.

all at there peaks.

Charles Barkley -
Hakeem Olajuwon
Penny Hardaway :aicmon:
Shaquille O'neal
Reggie Miller :leostare:
Gary Payton
John Stockton
Grant Hill
Shawn Kemp :pacspit:
David Robinson
Mitch Richmond :scusthov:

The REDEEM team.. now u got a point

I'm gonna 5 star this thread because the TS makes a valid point.

We all know Jordan, Magic and Bird are basketball icons. But the Magic and Bird from the Dream Team were NOT in their primes. We hear those names and automatically associate them with NBA titles but Magic and Bird were past those days in 1992.

In 2k terms, their ratings would have been mid to high 80s at that point, not the 90+ most of you are thinking of.

And the competition was pathetic back then. The best challenger was Croatia, a team led by Toni Kukoc, a career 6th man in the NBA and Dino Radja.

Now we have international teams with multiple NBA All-Stars on them. The rest of the world has certainly closed the gap, and by a significant amount. Also consider how different the international game is and when constructing Team USA today, that is definitely a factor in deciding who goes. I remember they wanted Ray Allen for his pure shooting because that's a big part of the game. Was Ray the best 2 guard? No but he fit what they were trying to do.

You guys have just convinced yourselves that it was the best team ever contemplated when in reality I can easily conjure a better team just by replacing Laettner with Shaq and putting Isaiah on the roster.

say bruh.. I noticed something about your posts..

you write a lot of dumb sh!t

is that how bad your reading comprehension is?

This thread is showing me how little some of you nikkas know about basketball.

You should be beheaded for even trying to say Magic, Bird, and Jordan < anyone. :what: the fukk is wrong with some of you clowns? And why are you acting like every team from the other countries are so good now? Spain was the only legit team and they had six NBA players on their team. Argentina had 4.

And look, I was born the year of the Dream Team. I never got the see them play but I have enough common fukking sense and view of how the sport was played at that time to know that this team was called the dream team for a reason. They had John Stockton coming OFF THE BENCH. Off the fukking bench. John Stockton one of the greatest PGs this league has ever seen, on the bench. If you put the Dream Team against those teams they STILL would've beat them by an average of 30. It gets annoying when guys try to compete with other generations and try to stack todays greatness to yesterdays greatness. I notice it heavily within this generation. Whats ironic is this is the worst generation for damn near everything so why are you trying to compare the two? The Dream Team was also playing rougher tougher basketball compared to todays pampered stars. So they were a tad more durable.

Drazen's best season in the L
22.3 ppg 3.5 rpg 2.7 apg 1.3 spg 51% fg

Toni's best year
15.7 ppg 5.4 rpg 4.6 apg 1.3 spg 50% fg

Dino's best season
19.7 ppg 9.8 rpg 1.6 apg 1.5 bpg 50% fg

Dudes gotta stop acting like Croatia was led by pushovers. Drazen was only getting better exponentially before his untimely death. Kukoc was hindered statistically by playing with MJ and Pip and was later slowed by injuries. And lol at dude who called Dino a 6th man at best. If it weren't for injuries dude would've continued to be a problem in the L.

Talent wise, this squad was arguably comparable to the Argentina team led by Manu, Scola, Delfino, and Oberto, and definitely not so far off from the Spain team that took the silver in 08.
you realize these two had not played in the NBA in 1992, right? Rendering all of what you just typed meaningless.

Kukoc admitted to being shook of facing those guys.

You kidding yourselves if you think Dream Team 3 doesnt compare with the OG team at all. Larry Bird and Magic were nowhere near their primes when they played on the Dream Team, they also had Christian Laettner and Chris Mullin. Some of yall arent even being objective. You taking each of those players at their prime, not what they were in 1992.

WHO IS BETTER THAN MJ, MAGIC & BIRD
AT THEIR POSITIONS?

See like this here. There were def. some players better than an end of his career Larry Bird.

can brehs stop slandering Chris Mullin?

Dude was a 25 ppg scorer hitting 52% of his shoots that year, and was all NBA first team. He is in the HOF for a reason.
