so u tellin me a team with

Kevin Durant
LeBron James
Kobe Bryant
Dwight Howard
CP3
Derrick Rose
Carmelo Anthony
Chris Bosh
Russell Westbrook
Tyson Chandler

couldnt compete with an Old-Washed up 1992 Dream Team?

:snoop:

The problem you gonna run into with this is that Derrick Rose, Chris Bosh, and Dwight Howard are hurt, and Kobe has lost numerous steps due to his knee. So if you gonna put them back at peak condition then the other side gets to be able to put Larry Bird and Magic at peak condition. And none of the people you named want to see Larry Bird and Magic at peak physical condition.

The original Dream Team was the truth. I just hate that Jordan wouldn't let Isiah Thomas be on the team.

:russ: @ the 5-page debate about the meaning of contemplate.

I think people are getting caught up on whether you should evaluate the teams according to:
  • how the players were performance and health-wise when they actually participated in their Olympic games AND
  • when the players were playing at their peak performance and best physical condition during the course of their careers, which for some was before, during, or after their respective Olympic games---even still, some of this is unknowable because some players are still playing and might not have reached their peak

Nevertheless, to answer the TS, yup, the original Dream Team was damn good. But I think you and others have raised some valid points about the quality of international competition in 1992 and the status of some of the players at that point in their careers relative to the competition and players that would come in later years.

I'm still taking any team with Magic and MJ all day.

what, is CP3 playing against 5'7 players now? :comeon:

Magic in 1992 was on his death bed breh, he was barely moving.

who in the world would stop a trio of Durant-LeBron-Kobe,
with Wade, D-Rose, CP3, Dwight,

stop bein stuck in the 90s breh, Today's players are faster, stronger, more athletic and just better.

:stopitslime:

:childplease:

Just say you weren't around back then and leave it at that. Magic on his deathbed, I can't believe a nikka said that shyt.

you realize these two had not played in the NBA in 1992, right? Rendering all of what you just typed meaningless.

Kukoc admitted to being shook of facing those guys.

Doesnt matter that they didn't play in the L yet. My point was that these guys were already talented players who would eventually contribute at a high level in the league. Not to mention that they both came in putting up impressive stats immediately in their rookie seasons, which proves that they were legit ballers even before entering the NBA.
