I don't think anyone disagrees that the international competition today is significantly better. But with the competitive nature of MJ, Magic, and Bird especially, and with the more serious and extended preparation time the Redeem Team had, it's hard for me to doubt that the Dream Team would have fared just as well, if not better, than the Redeem Team did in 08.

Keep in mind that the players on the Dream Team were much more adept at moving without the ball, didn't need the ball in their hands as much to be effective, had superior post presence, and bigs who could hit the midrange J to spread the inside. These are all essential elements to winning the international game.

Of course the ATL
Unfortunately this thread will do numbers b/c of all the new nikkas who never saw The original Dream Team play. Most people on this board never saw a prime Malone, prime Pippen, prime Ewing, prime Robinson, prime Barkley (who led that team in scoring), Drexler had just come from off a Finals apperance, MJ in the midst of a three peat, Stockton & Magic arguably the two greatest passers EVER...the original Dream Team would DESTROY any collection of NBA talent made before or after them

Don't get me wrong, the Dream team>>>The redeem team. But the overrating of the dream team's "dominance" needs to stop. Those teams were garbage, they did what they had to do.

No doubt. The overrating in sports and music on this board due to nostalgia is mos def relatively prevalent.

You looked at the complete Dream Team 3 roster yet? That squad is not getting destroyed by anyone. Comparing the two rosters the only clear downgrade is whoever is taking a spot Jordan would have had.

what, is CP3 playing against 5'7 players now? :comeon:

Magic in 1992 was on his death bed breh, he was barely moving.

who in the world would stop a trio of Durant-LeBron-Kobe,
with Wade, D-Rose, CP3, Dwight,

stop bein stuck in the 90s breh, Today's players are faster, stronger, more athletic and just better.

you've already proven you're a teenager that knows nothing about 90's basketball. Stop posting in this thread.

This thread is showing me how little some of you nikkas know about basketball.

You should be beheaded for even trying to say Magic, Bird, and Jordan < anyone. :what: the fukk is wrong with some of you clowns? And why are you acting like every team from the other countries are so good now? Spain was the only legit team and they had six NBA players on their team. Argentina had 4.

And look, I was born the year of the Dream Team. I never got the see them play but I have enough common fukking sense and view of how the sport was played at that time to know that this team was called the dream team for a reason. They had John Stockton coming OFF THE BENCH. Off the fukking bench. John Stockton one of the greatest PGs this league has ever seen, on the bench. If you put the Dream Team against those teams they STILL would've beat them by an average of 30. It gets annoying when guys try to compete with other generations and try to stack todays greatness to yesterdays greatness. I notice it heavily within this generation. Whats ironic is this is the worst generation for damn near everything so why are you trying to compare the two? The Dream Team was also playing rougher tougher basketball compared to todays pampered stars. So they were a tad more durable.

David Robinson, Clyde Drexler, Patrick Ewing and John Stockton were just "good" players? :rudy:

David Robinson and Ewing would have ran a train on the Redeem Team's front line

The Dream Team was great but you do have a point about the competition. The rest of the world has improved and the influx of international players in the NBA is proof of that. How many other countries boast NBA players on their roster now?
