He was the true definition of a sociopath.

He had his day one's nephew murdered then looked him right in the eyes when he was sitting in prison grieving and feeling guilty and lied to his face like it was nothing.

I don't think marlo, chris and them were realistic characters.

so stringer was definitely the most ruthless when you consider this.

Stringer was the most ruthless simply because he brought the cold approach of business/capitalism to the game that Avon wouldn't and Marlo would just follow. Killing folks to String was no different than a boss firing people and there is something very ruthless about that. shyt was X's & O's to String which is the main reason why he and Avon clashed. While other characters may have killed in cold fashion, you still see the humanity (Chris killing Michael's' dad, the last conversation Snoop had wit Michael). The only thing Stringer ever showed true emotion about was money especially when he found out Clay played him.

Even for as cold as Marlo was, he really was just following the blueprint Stringer laid out for him and even stil,l Marlo had more connection to the ways street shyt is supposed to be done. It was indirectly because of Stringer that shots were fired at Omar & his g'ma while going to church. It don't get more ruthless than that.
