Was Shaq the greatest rookie ever?

I feel Shaq's rookie year is the most impressive (maybe not statistically, although he does shyt on some players mentioned in this thread's rookie years).

By impressive I mean, the way he played in his first year instilled more of a feeling that this dude may be the best ever, than anyone (besides maybe michael).

I'm not gonna comment on Wilt as i've never seen him play and comparing now to then is always if's & but's.

what are you basing this on? I hope not Youtube highlights.

Kareem? Oscar? David Robinson's rookie year?

stat wise Shaq had a better year. Duncan also had a way better supporting cast.

Shaq's rookie season was great but I don't know if I could say it was that much better than Jordan's Duncan's or AI's if better at all. Not to mention those guys like Oscar Kareem and Wilt who were putting up video game numbers in their rookie season. But that 23 and 14 with 3.5 blocks a night does look good though. I just wish Shaq could have those rebounding and block totals year in and year out. Let's not forget Hill's rookie season too. He balled from the jump. And since Bron did what he did too at the age of 18 under the most pressure ever his has to mentioned too.

No need to say but still. SAS added a top 10 NBA player in that draft then had a top 10 player who missed most of the season before. They should have been a 4-7 seed with a healthy D-Rob anyway. They just added the missing piece in Duncan for a title for them.

Wilt was playing v. a lot of HOF's. Too much is understated in terms of Wilt's comp.

Robinson was out Elliot was out. THey had a bunch of injuries. they only won 20 games but the years before they they won 59, 62, 55.. you get the picture. They last time the Spurs had a losing record and didn't make the playoffs was the year before David Robinson came.
