Was '99 the year when Wu Tang started to show cracks in the armor with jawns like Rae's Immobilarity, GZA's Beneath the Surface, Dirt's Ni$%a Please+

That album is better than Kendrick Lamar's entire existence.

:manny:
Pure delusion breh. Aside from 4-5 songs this might be some of RZA’s worst production and rhymes. It’s worse than a weed plate, this the CD you swap inside case of the CD you REALLY wanted, before you stole it out of circuit city. “Terrorist” is my shyt though.

I am comfortable and I love you
My opinion is probably null and void cause GZA's first album is in my top 5 Wu LP's :lolbron: but...
Dirty singing Good Morning Heartache aged better than 99.9% of the music that dropped that year :wow:

Hahaha I love this album. My hot take is that it has some of the best beats of any Wu album.

True Master killed this album and Tical 2000

97’ if we being honest

Most older heads won’t feeling Wu Forever

then the second wave of all those second solos and RZA’s Bobby Digital album was the nail in the coffin

Most of us saw the cracks in '97.

The run was over right after Forever dropped.
The coli never admits this, maybe they were too young, but the aura started to fade when Forever dropped. People don't understand the expectations we had for that album. We expected CLASSIC CLASSIC, not 4 mics.

I dont consider it cracks when wu dropped like 5x more than most crews. Every crew after mimicked them. Hard ri stand out when they all are copying you.

30 albums between forever and supreme released by labels major to indy.

Too many guys to release 3 a year and keep everyone fed.

The best wu albums of that era are just as good as some of the best period. Yes a few artists dropped gems, but they didnt drop 10 years of gems like wu minus a handful.

Artists come and go but wu were atleast consistantly dropping good material well into 2000s so the 97-99 fall off is bs. Blackout, nuh please, BTS, US are all 3.5-4 micers… immobilarity looks like a classic next to melvin flynt and yeaaah baby etc.

Track for track, its no contest.

Add on all the sample bs they got hit with att. the style changes yea wus downfall is exaggerated as fukk. Business took precedent. Slacked? Sure. But to act like 10 mcs woke up and started being weak all at once is bs. Not saying OP doing that but ive seen stated here too many times.

Add in supreme dropped in 2000 and is the most influential album of the 2000s both commercially/ug, making everyone from the entire 2000s era soul sample sound to doom/sean price/roc marci/gunn calling it specirically as the most influential to their whole styles.

Have artists focusing on one career who couodnt create the gems a single crew amassed together and split 30 ways…

So they made a normal album? Thats a crack in the armor?

A crack in wutangs armor would split a norMal mc in half.
