I have one of the "whitest" sound names you can think of. My first, middle and surname can all be easily exchanged on some David Keith/Keith David types shyt.. The utter stupidity of thinking of having a "white" sounding name (whatever that means) somehow insulates you from your skin.

Warren Sapp should already know that a person's name isn't a guarantee to get a job, unless said name is connected through networking, family ties, etc.

His kids could have a non-ethnic sounding name, all the credentials for a job and still get passed over based on their physical features.

As for him having access to a lot of money and having the opportunities to start ventures to create generational wealth, I don't think it is that simple.

I do feel that he should teach his kids to have entrepreneurship as a viable option when they are old enough to venture into the world as young adults.

I understand the logic and he's right. Couldn't be me though. My children will be black, it will already come with some struggle. Please, all ethnicities have had to conform to American. I grew up in multi ethnic communities in Silver Spring MD. Lots of Asian and Indian people had American first names which are nicknames for some long winded ethnic name kids couldn't pronounce and made fun of. Stop targeting nikkas with this shyt.

Nothing to hate on here. Theres multiple ways to attempt to finesse the system, and this is one of them. Countless studies show that certain sounding names will disqualify you off rip in many cases whether ppl like it or not. Getting your foot in the door is the most crucial part. But if you strictly rock with "african/AA" names to the death, salute to you too.

Breh, I already said what Sapp did was lame. I'm focusing just on the resume aspect of it because I've seen it myself, not the birth certificate and SS card.

I'm only saying there are clear cut studies that show that you have a MUCH better chance if you put a whiter sounding name on your resume. When I say put your kids on, I'm saying is put a nickname in their job applications. That's it. Sometimes you have to cheat the game to win.

Better choose the right one, a percentage of AA names especially females are of french origin so you might end up with a ethnic name anyway.
