When you have generational wealth you can make your kids whatever the fukk you want.

Unfortunately we don't have that which is why you see black folks whining on TV about being excluded from white institutions for a variety of reasons.

The system Has been gamed so black folks have to go to them for almost everything. Then you got the black folks who feel like they life ain't shyt UNTIL the match up to whites so

If east indians and Arabs can still have their names with a million and one syllables in the work place we should be able to do so as well. nikkas shouldn't have to "code switch" just for a job opportunity. I wouldn't even feel right working a gig where if I had the same skills but a different name they wouldn't hire me let alone desire to be there in the first place.
Who cares if some old CAC who sees your resume knows you as Jerry instead of Jerome???? That person is signing your paycheck that's it. You're still Jerome

If you feel that way give them a "standard" first name and give them whatever you want as their middle name :yeshrug:

They can pick which one they want and use both to an advantage when needed:troll:

I have the whitest name possible even down to the middle name. I get a call back on a lot of jobs I apply for (could just be the resume though) I think the name helps but it’s all about the interview your name not getting you a job.

Last name parker huh :ohhh::mjpls:

Then I walk in like

:dwillhuh: I work for one of the top tech companies in the world, and they definitely do this, but for a different reason. They don't want the recruiter to think that they need H1B if they have full Indian names. Off the top of my head Parth, Priya, Aesha, etc. were all nicknames of Indian hires.

Might as well get that nose job and whitenicious too while you’re at it right?
So I know extremism is your shtick on the coli, but I practice moderation. If you feel comfortable bleaching and getting a nose job, then I won't stop you. I'm sure you could save your money though and get a job another way, but if that is your wish so be it.

I know thecoli will call me a c00n but I agree with him the name doesn't have to be white per say but they do have computers that will screen out certain names before a human even look at an app..

The president of my company is indian and he goes by RJ publicly. Let's not pretend that nicknames aren't a thing.

One of my closest work associates is an Arab who family owns one the largest hotel companies here in Florida along with a chain of other businesses here in Florida. And his birth name is as middle eastern as you can come across it has he hasn't changed. He actually hooked me up with a few times before career wise.
