I used to be of the school of thought that having ghostwriters was some wack shyt but like I told people on twitter.....ghostwriting has been apart of rap since the beginning, literally. The first rap record, Rappers Delight contained ghostwritten raps from Grandmaster Caz (I'm over charging nikkaz for what they did to the Cold crush). They literally took that man's rhymes and spit them like they wrote them. Anytime you commercialize an art form it's compromised and although at one time people tried to pretend to "keep it real", most weren't.

When it comes to celebrities, the public idealizes people & are just victims of Law 32 in 48 Laws of Power: Play to people's fantasies. For example, Many of u guys wanted to see Sanaa Lathan as this nice wholesome girl then she pops up in instragram hammered sitting on French Montana's lap. The Chronic isn't any less dope or classic because RBX wrote Let Me Ride and DOC, Snoop, Kurupt etc wrote just about everything else. Snoop is a legend and has openly used ghostwriters his entire career. Lil Kim-Crush on You isn't any less dope because Cam'ron wrote it.....Method man wrote Ghostface's verse for “Cherchez La Ghost.”..Eazy E spit "Ice cube writes the rhymes that I say" Rap's been like THIS. Someone tell me Eric B's role in Eric B & Rakim other than being NYC's Suge Knight? Large P, Marley Marl & Rakim did most of the beats breh. Ghost DJing exist too.....Me and my OG legit ghost dj'd someone's mixtape. Put their drops on it & everything. LOL Story seems like poetic justice....whole YM has been accused of having Ghostwriters. Gillie/Wayne, Safaree/Nicki, now it's just Drake's turn. At the end of the day Drake is probably the greatest rap artist of this generation next to Kendrick.....tonight didn't change that for me.

It's time to just accept that the game is smoke and mirrors......believe half of what you see, none of what you hear. Just enjoy the music for what it is because more often than not your favorite celebrity/artist isn't what you thought they were. Many of you are probably just realizing Santa isn't real......at 29 I realized along time ago.

Remember the backlash when @fwmj & @dreamhampton told everyone Jay Electronica & Stic Man from Dead Prez ghostwrote "N1gger" for NaS?

that backlash was an example of how far people will go to the length to believe in the fantasy that their favorite artist is God (and Nas is my favorite rapper too)

It doesn't matter.....

Having people that contribute while writing you songs are tottally normal, EVERYBODY does that, and its no secret, they get credited in the songs, just open any album booklet and you'll see... THATS NOT THE SAME THING OF HAVING A GHOST WRITER!

Buuuut, Meek claims theres people writing whole verses and even laying down reference verses, now that just a whole nother thing, thats really faking it, like Dr Dre and Diddy....

Anyone else just catch the Sprite commercial during the Finals with Nas walking out to Drake performing 0-100?

The ad was to promote Sprite's new "Lyrical Collection" which will feature inspirational rap lyrics on the back of Sprite cans.

Drake and Nas on the same level:snoop: I think all the high fructose corn syrup has gone to their heads.

I'm glad I stopped drinking soda 10 months ago....

Underrated post:sas2:

Drake has always lacked authenticity to me. On his blast off on Flex show, he came in with this false Jay-Z like bravado screaming "Young" all in the mic. Then he goes into his "screw face" routine talking about how he want to touch the city....barking "All the way from..." as he checks to see if his black berry is unlocked. After the subpar "freestyle" Flex decided to go the nut hugging route over the "in the Aston doing donuts" line as he cheeses and keep yelling "yeeeaahh....I said that" like a clown. The telling part comes when Flex interrupts his speech with another beat when he thought he was done. Watching him transform outta character was sad to watch...went from "I can't give them everything"....to..."this my first time on radio with the big dogs"......to saying...."please" when Flex jumped in and saved him. I say all this to say, I wouldn't be surprised if this guy has a ghostwriter. The messed up part is, he's catching heat for not being authentic at the point in his life/career where he's probably the most comfortable with being himself. Being a façade has finally caught up to him.
