This twitter beef shyt is wack but the way I see things is meek is an insecure, whooped as nikka. He found out the Nikki fuked Drake at one point or several. So he's sending shots. Drake is a fake as nikka too so he ain't gonna do shyt about it.

Hmmm...I don't know...but I'm an old school hip hop cat and accusing another rapper of not writing his own rhymes is the MOST disrespectful thing you can say...
Which is why Mef approached Buddens when he said that same shyt. You cant criticize a nikka art like that without actually facts

Why do people keep seeing people talking about Rico was the best song on the album??????

Y'all hating that bad? I'm not even a Meek fan like that, but come on with the fake hate.Rico one of the worst on the album and Where Ya At was one of the worst songs on Future album. Stop hating.
i agree with rico but disagree with where ya at. Where ya at is middle of the pack for me probably. Rico is dope...but the verse is waaaay overhyped

When the industry didn't go in on drake having a blackberry while "freestyling" on camera, I really began fearing where hip hop was headed, imo.

If he doesn't respond after this accusation, and doesn't catch little to no heat from not responding, then hip hop as I known it is truly dead. Or was dead a loooooooong time ago,

Breh, he doesn't really have to respond for me to know the how different things are now. We have dudes seriously in here defending ghostwriting. Ghostwriting was mostly taboo to serious MCs back in the day. Yea, there was s bunch of ghostwriting going on, but no rapper being ghostwritten would be considered a top MC.

I used to be of the school of thought that having ghostwriters was some wack shyt but like I told people on twitter.....ghostwriting has been apart of rap since the beginning, literally. The first rap record, Rappers Delight contained ghostwritten raps from Grandmaster Caz (I'm over charging nikkaz for what they did to the Cold crush). They literally took that man's rhymes and spit them like they wrote them. Anytime you commercialize an art form it's compromised and although at one time people tried to pretend to "keep it real", most weren't.

When it comes to celebrities, the public idealizes people & are just victims of Law 32 in 48 Laws of Power: Play to people's fantasies. For example, Many of u guys wanted to see Sanaa Lathan as this nice wholesome girl then she pops up in instragram hammered sitting on French Montana's lap. The Chronic isn't any less dope or classic because RBX wrote Let Me Ride and DOC, Snoop, Kurupt etc wrote just about everything else. Snoop is a legend and has openly used ghostwriters his entire career. Lil Kim-Crush on You isn't any less dope because Cam'ron wrote it.....Method man wrote Ghostface's verse for “Cherchez La Ghost.”..Eazy E spit "Ice cube writes the rhymes that I say" Rap's been like THIS. Someone tell me Eric B's role in Eric B & Rakim other than being NYC's Suge Knight? Large P, Marley Marl & Rakim did most of the beats breh. Ghost DJing exist too.....Me and my OG legit ghost dj'd someone's mixtape. Put their drops on it & everything. LOL Story seems like poetic justice....whole YM has been accused of having Ghostwriters. Gillie/Wayne, Safaree/Nicki, now it's just Drake's turn. At the end of the day Drake is probably the greatest rap artist of this generation next to Kendrick.....tonight didn't change that for me.

It's time to just accept that the game is smoke and mirrors......believe half of what you see, none of what you hear. Just enjoy the music for what it is because more often than not your favorite celebrity/artist isn't what you thought they were. Many of you are probably just realizing Santa isn't real......at 29 I realized along time ago.

Remember the backlash when @fwmj & @dreamhampton told everyone Jay Electronica & Stic Man from Dead Prez ghostwrote "N1gger" for NaS?

13ypdz5.jpg

that backlash was an example of how far people will go to the length to believe in the fantasy that their favorite artist is God (and Nas is my favorite rapper too)

Nas Lost <br>(Ghostwriters) | FWMJ's Rappers I Know

It doesn't matter.....

The problem with your logic is, every single person you named would have a presence in rap totally independent of someone giving them lines.

Drake though? The Jewish Canadian child actor from the whitest, richest part of Toronto? :patrice:

This just makes it seem like his entire rap career was one long method acting session, and he was reading raps given to him like a script for a movie.

Matter of fact, @cook and @Brooklynzson can we move all future Drake threads to The Film Room? He might be the greatest actor of this generation. :wow:

Fred.

3 years is nothing. To take off like he did? Room For Improvement was solid at best and the game was still regional back then so no one was checking for a Canadian artist.

All I'm saying, 3 years, 1 Lil WAyne cosign and all of a sudden he's the biggest in the game? think about that for a second. It took Ye' three albums and loads of #1s (true #1s not hip and rnb #1s) to get HUGE. And even then it can't compare. Drake was selling out 15k a night off a mixtape. Grammy nominated off a mixtape.

Clear as day he was a plant.

He's a Jew.

At this point I just enjoy the music for what it is.....I'm 29 years old man. I know some of my favorite songs are ghostwritten.......I've accepted Santa wasn't real along time ago.

Expecting Hip Hop in it's purest form from a major label designed to make money is hilarious. If you want rap in it's purest form go to a local cypher or gathering where there's break dancing and djing.
I understand that attitude and it's true for a lot of old songs. I get that a lot of important rap songs were ghostwritten. And music is a collaborative effort on the big stage. People will say something that sparks lines, or help you with a flow or a hook. All that is cool. But having someone lay down reference tracks for you, lay out flows for you, and write full verses is an entirely different thing.

When it comes to those top tier MCs, it still matters. Nas, and to a much lesser extent Drake, having legit ghostwriter accusations/claims against them is a bad look for them and rap.

Drake is dominating this era and jumping into people's top 5/10/25 lists everyday now. If it was a product of a team of writers giving him those flows and just writing full rap verses/songs, then he's a fraud. He can still be entertaining, but he's Sammy Sosa status if its true. He's pitted himself against a true lyricist in Kendrick Lamar and drawn a line in the sand. If he's just a Rihanna/Beyonce style product of a 10 team writing staff then he's hurting real rappers that do it on their own.
