Bad part about this is nobody got in the booth yet... Stop talking and rap nygga, fukk all that tweeting shyt, this hip hop nygga!

yup, and these 2 are both supposedly some of the better modern mainstream mc's... I mean I'd understand if this was 2 rappers who u don't know how to rap or sing & just mumble and use autotune all the time. but Meek has a battle background and Drake is supposed to be a GOOD mc and I actually still feel this way, when he (or his ghostwriter, lol) is focused

Anthony Palman aka OVOHush/Young Tony has writing credits on damn near every song on Take Care and NWTS :patrice:
Find me a rapper who has hit records with only his name on the credits :dahell:

Even em has other people helping him i think, can you confirm this @SunZoo :patrice:

Yea, both those albums you mentioned are very dope (Chronic being one of the best ever) but NOBODY ever considered Dre or Puff serious MCs. A n!gga can spit ghostwritten rhymes, put out quality product but still wouldn't be considered a top MC back in the day.
You won't today either, the point that dude was making was that "the music is dope I don't care about anything else", just like in the cases of Dr. Dre and Puff's music.

I've not heard anyone say that Drake would still be a top MC or a serious MC if he wasn't a writer.
Rapper = song writer to me and most people.

I've been saying this from last year, Meek gonna leave MMG sooner or later.

He's kinda like 50, once he's in a space to make his own moves he gonna kill all the competition on some rap shyt

drake has a huge machine behind him that will promote him no matter what. meek shouldnt bite the hands that feed him or he'll wind up forgotten, atleast in pop culture.and of course ghostwriting is fukkin lame as we all should know but now ,even virally its hard to make a splash w/o the right promotion. who is he backed by outside of mmg?

Just read through the whole thread. :russ: How did I miss this last night? :wow:

It's obvious that Quentin Miller dude is one of Drake's writers/references...just like I'm sure he probably gets shyt from Jimmy Prime, Sha Hustle, Roy Woods, etc. Now, do I think Drake doesn't write any of his shyt...nah.

Meek probably got 3 situations at play 1) his album actually sold so now he feeling himself 2) people probably telling him Drake washed him on his own song and 3) probably truth to the Nicki and Drake shyt. I'm surprised people on Twitter are shocked by this honestly. Most of these nikkas got a team behind them. Louie V accused Meek of using his songs on Dreams & Nightmares after they had a falling out. Jay took I Just Wanna Love You from Omillio Sparks. :manny: That's the game...you're a business now. It's no longer just about "being dope" especially when there's huge money involved. Steve Jobs took ideas from his workers and took credit. If you honestly think Future not using them Freebandz nikkas, Wayne using Euro or those Young Money nikkas or J. Cole not using Bas or any of those other Dreamville nikkas for songs then you just being unrealistic. If I had to guess probably 80% of these songs are written by the actual artist like Drake or Cole and 20% is probably their teams (hooks, perfecting the flow, some lines here and there, etc).

This is pretty much the same thing other comedians say about Kevin Hart.

Don't really care for either myself. Drake is soft and Meek won't stop yelling but its a summer so I'll keep watching and see how this turns out.

He doesn't need to be backed by anybody, he's outgrown MMG and has his own movement and fan base. Forget what you see on TV, it's all smoke and mirrors, Drake doesn't even write his own music.

Meek got a whole label and movement, why's he under a rapper that he's outselling? It's time for him to move on, on a business level

Jay stole young Chris's whole style, down to delivery and breathe control :dead:
