Powerful stuff. Sadly, too many people think of forgiveness as a way to let other people off the hook for bad things they did, and it's really not about that at all.

Forgiveness is ultimately a way to free yourself from pain and resentment of holding onto trauma, and it's not even so much about the person that hurt you...although it can be a tool to help them move forward and become a better person if they are truly remorseful.

But not matter what, working towards forgiveness towards people that have hurt you is a great gift to give yourself.

Wallo understands. Hanging onto anger and resentment is poisoning yourself.

Yes, the parents should come first. But a lot of people don't have both parents, or even one parent. And even if they do...if their parents don't raise them right, is it just fukk them because they got unlucky enough to have bad parents?

"It takes a village" is some real shyt. As a species, human beings have always thrived best in tribal communities where everyone looked out for each other, and everyone realized that the outcome of everyone's life has an effect on the whole community.

Because people that have gone to prison and made it out the other side almost always have a lot of life experience and wisdom they can impart on the next generation. People that have done wrong, reflected on what they did, served their debt to society, and come out the other side with a desire to help prevent people from falling into the same cycles....these are people worth listening to.

Lets be real, someone telling you something at the age of 18-21-25.... Hell even 40-50-60... People are stuck in their ways. It's VERY rare that a person changes their life. Yea we might make small changes over time. A few big changes.. But to go from a drug dealing, murdering street nikka to an angel in 10 conversations, usually won't happen. What you hope is that you give this speech, 40 other dudes give this speech, and when he hears it the 42nd time, maybe then he starts to make some changes that'll lead to that civilian life..

Or maybe they'll say, "I can't change, but maybe I shouldn't be teaching my youngings this shyt"


You just hope some of it rubs off.. On someone.. Cause you can't encourage the dumb shyt... And you can't stay silent. So at least you tried
