Relatability does not equal talent. Definitely not in Durk’s case with his cliche hood singing vocals. Nas and Mobb deep are some of favorite artists. I’ve never stepped one foot in Queens so I never lived that life.

i used to be like id never be the type to shyt on new artist. But the new artist i grew up are legends or were legends.
these new codeine babies dont even last long enough to have a tranny scandal. And lets not even talk about content and quality.
I can listen to Durk and some of the new cats. It just starts to sound like there is no fluctuation in styles for a lot of them.

Being old is a cop out. A way to make peace with the youngings by just saying "I'm old"I can listen to Durk and some of the new cats. It just starts to sound like there is no fluctuation in styles for a lot of them.

Nah fam Pac was 25, Biggie was 24.. They was dropping at younger ages than these dudes. Mobb deep was 17. Wu-Tang was all under 25 but maybe Rza and gza. Outkast was young. Ice Cube was young as hell. Snoop was young. Hov was probably the oldest and he was like 26. Em was young. 50 was young.
At some point, we let these youngins attach non lyrical music, as a young trait. They said it was all about the clubs but our clubs were better AND we was dancing to the music. So how your shyt better for the club? Another excuse... "Oh you don't understand that life." More bullshyt. What about our music, our actual crime statistics, or the shyt we was getting into back then, saysW to you that we suddenly don't understand the life they rapping about? Well nah cause all the old nikkas 30 and up, outsell you. And they ain't doing that style. Drake, Cole, Kendrick, even Wayne who pioneered it, Nicki, Jay, etc etc... It's bullshyt. And we just accept it. Good music is good music. It has been since the beginning of human history. You can hear music from thousands of years ago. You can bang with rocks and make good music. You don't get old and suddenly lose your ear. These new nikkas all sound the same and they might have a bar here or there. But none of them saying anything impressive. Which is why old nikkas like Griselda can shine in the midst of all this Waynism
If it actually sounds good, the ears will pay attention. People dont fukk with new rappers because the music sounds so bad.
