I think the only people that have been shown having sex are Glenn/Maggie, The Governor/Andrea, The Governor/That Dumb SIngle Mom He Met in the Apartment and Shane/Lori, Shane/Andrea.

Actually most of the romantic/sexual interest came form Carol's side. I can't recall any instances where Daryl showed any romantic feelings for her.

All I know is i'd be mad if I developed a character a certain way as an actor and then you just switch up my whole background and mentality without telling me from the beginning ...there are subtleties the actor could have added early on if he know the complete background of the character

I have less than a single problem with gay characters on TV shows. This seems awkward and shoe-horned in if they make it a thing. It seems like a reaction to that article about there not being any gay characters on the show. On The Wire it felt natural, like it wasn't a big deal either way. Some characters were gay and others weren't. You gotta let creators create.

I don't even thing Walking Dead is that great, but when showrunners and creative starts making decisions based on complaints from fans and the media, it fukks the game up. It's a show about a fukkin zombie apocalypse and people are complaining that it's not realistic enough, because there aren't gay people on there?

Its not like Daryl's sexual preference has been a point at all anyway. He has never shown a sexual/romantic interest in any woman on the show, he hasn't spoken about any past relationships with men or women, and considering his backstory (abusive father, Merle being a closeminded bigot) it would stand to reason that Daryl would be deep, deep, deep in the closet.
So unless they spend a whole episode on Daryl's coming out and then in every episode afterward he is discussing being gay and looking to hook up with dudes, his being "revealed" as a homosexual is not a character change in any way.
