Man I swear I could do a better just promoting these artists then their labels. It's not hard push Girls On Drugs hard as a lead single BEFORE THE ALBUM DROPS follow up with The Matrimony. And pick whatever for a next single. Dissapointing numbers but hey hopefully his single options can give him some legs.

It had that "Bad" single and what not...

This one is kind of out of nowhere to me. What were the big singles, etc?

Y'all got to look at it like, how much money is put into marketing, development, etc, THEN decide if the money the project brings in is flop status.

The song with jeremih has been all over the radio for months

Maybe... but then there would have been a lot of people who remember that Musiq song vividly when it was released and would have just chalked it up as Wale leaching on to something again
:francis:

That song isn't THAT old, and a lot of people that still check for hiphop know exactly where he got that song from. It's one thing to sample something, but breh literally just had Sza sing the exact same hook that we've all heard before.
I truly don't think it would have mattered, nikkaz shark hooks every day b

And all the bytches that I know that heard it so far love it.

It was not a hit just played a lot
Never said it was but if that's didn't become a hit. Need to know wouldn't have become one either

Wale has no club music on this album or the run leading up to the album

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Wale's problem was that this shyt got terrible promo. J. Cole's promo had a lot to do with that #blacklivesmatter movement and how people were feeling at the time. Obviously he has a bigger fanbase too AND nothing else worth copping had dropped. Wale should have dropped last year when he was supposed to. The label fukked him on this one. But the overall marketing scheme was terrible. Dude couldn't get one commercial with Seinfeld? Not even a youtube spotlight commercial? Damn.
I can't believe no one had the idea

I mean with some Adobe premiere, 5 minutes of footage when he recorded stuff, and some songs in the background. You could have chopped up a million promos for this thing

shyt leave the cameras on and drop a damn documentary

Someone dropped the ball on pulling in all the white Seinfeld fans. This shyt should have been marketed like seinfeld feat wale

shyt. I literally never listen to radio.

He had a couple songs in rotation last time around. I didn't hear the buzz this time and had the same stance on radio then. "Bad" is possibly his biggest single to date?

Wake should have had that Ludacris and Miguel joint that was wasted on Ludas album.

But I guess that song has been done by them before. Great record minus it being Luda in 2015.

Wale has a ft with Usher that's in the same vein as that one. It's a great single too, we'll see if he drops a visual for it
