It's really not something you dwell on, I was just checking out weapons with my family, it was right across from the hunting gear.

It's not the guns hurting people, it's the people with bad intentions that buy the guns. I think the licensing should be a harder process, but taking guns away is depriving people of their rights.

IMO, everyone should be armed.

But it is the guns hurting people. The availability and proliferation of firearms is so widespread that it is impossible to stop criminals from getting them. Guns from "good" owners end up on the streets and killing people because they are stolen or misplaced. Not only that, states with lax gun laws often have conflicting counties with diametrically opposed gun laws. In Chicago for example, it is next to impossible to get a gun. However in surrounded parts of Cook County, it is very easy to get a firearm, even if you are a convicted felon. A stiffer licensing process is a moot point because some places have that and it doesn't work (NYC, LA).

The idea is to get the guns off the street and derail gun shows. Encouraging people, especially African Americans to get firearms, while well meaning, is harmful because they are the one group in society most victimized by the proliferation of firearms and their ready availability, and the gun culture among rural White Americans is among the prime factors.

Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, John Crawford, insert anyone else who was wrongfully killed, how many of them would sitll be alive if they had guns? Not a single one of them. How was Trayvon supposed to know that Zimmerman was gonna kill him? Guns do not make you safer. There is no real correlation between gun ownership and anything else except more homicides.

Emotional appeal. Lack of facts or any new evidence. Ignored.

Honest question.

What happens when we (as in the people) don't have guns...and the people that are licensed to carry and use them do (as in police, military, etc)?

Then you have civil society... like we've had for thousands of years? Like they have in much, safer countries?

People will kill people with or without guns though...but I agree to a fair extent.

America however is just a country of barbarians that claim to be civilized.

Other countries are tearing down their prisons...while we build more.

Other countries have police forces that haven't fired a shot in years...while we have police forces that shoot more people in a day then they do in years.

I don't really know what to say...I never claimed to have the answers.

This country was built on guns...it would be foolish to think they are going away anytime soon. Especially when the powers that be have moved beyond guns to drones and bombs and MRIs.

But the police will still have guns. They're the one killing.

Facts. The problem is pandora's box is opened and can never close.

There should be minimum sentencing and the ability to charge up the chain of ownership in non self defense gun incidents. Sold a gun (privately) to a guy who stuck up 7 eleven? You get charged too. Sold ammunition online to a guy who shot up the Batman premiere? You get charged too.

Problem is this country is too racist and too afraid to upset whites they will NEVER challenge gun laws at the federal level.

I hate mandatory minimums but this is an interesting idea. Rep.

A grand jury decided not to file charges Wednesday against police officers who shot and killed 22-year-old John Crawford III inside a Beavercreek, Ohio, Wal-Mart for carrying a BB gun. They rejected charges of not just murder, but also reckless homicide and negligent homicide, finding instead that there was no probable cause to charge officers with anything. One of those officers is already back on the job.

This is why I don't give a fukk about no ISIS or no Al Qaeda or no Taliban. I ain't worried about no terrorists across the world. I'm worried about the terrorists here with badges.
