I think that the poster was being sarcastic. I mean if this was about another certain NY rap legend doing a song with Waka, 90% of the comments would be about how this is an example of how that rapper does nothing but ride trends and hop on whatever is hot. It's a double standard, Nas doesn't get that kind of scrutiny here. Nas can work with people like Waka, Minaj, Kerry Hilson, Wayne, Ross, Lil Jon or anybody else that he chooses to work with without being called a dikkrider and such. It's just music, none of these guys should be hated on for petty reasons.
yep
Nas just wants to be revelant to today's generation
basically
Nas has always been a dude who's done commercial and not so commercial stuff. He'll do something that's part of the trend and then also go left field.
Its whats made him popular beyond Illmatic and given some longevity and its what made him severely criticised and dubbed inconsistent over the years.
But its always what he felt like doing.
Kanye said it best:
"Nas could do a song with Puffy one day and do a song with Wu-Tang the same day and it would sound fresh"
Exactly
Its just fun to rile up the Nas diehards who try to make up artificial standards for whats Hip Hop.
We havent even heard the song yet. Could be dope. We wont know until we hear it and its stupid to put these artists in boxes. Its good for rap for the Nas' & Flockas/ Talib & Gucci Manes to collaborate.
