Bullshyt - this is a service industry vet and common courtesy combination type of thing, not a generational gap. I've been out to eat with my parents (who are boomers) hundreds of times and my Mom has been doing this my whole life. Some people are just considerate. I never do this when I'm out to eat by myself - too much liability, I'm not trying to drop a used fork or food or any of that shyt on me "just trying to help", I'll let them do it but I am nice and tip very well. Tik Tok is creating a whole army of idiots

Breh....you got me having a Vietnam flashback of this old ass black boomer customer putting his stuff on the counter and throwing money at me like I was a stripper.

Guess what ya marsupial did

Treated his groceries like Friggin Pete Weber.

Dude was like "why you rolled my groceries :mjcry: "

I said, the same reason why you threw money at me :ehh:

"Where's the manager :unimpressed: "

*Marsupial points at supervisor reading a magazine*

Bad enough I dealt with rich entitled cacs, I'm not going to give immunity to stuck up rich entitled c00ns either :camby:

But you didnt throw them crackas groceries around:mjpls:

Old black people are usually nice and cool as hell. Yall must be dealing with alot of rich black people.

Far as the video,im guessing shes Genz and faked the entire scene. This is what her generation is known for with their little Tiktok videos:flabbynsick:

this is a non issue if you have great service. I went to eat yesterday and the server was taking away our empty plates the moment we finished eating. Literally wasn’t any plates on our table when we got the check.

Breh they got it too. Like this one cac that kept putting his money on the counter. I had my hand out to catch it and the old cac went like "OOO you wanna play that game". So it was like one of those mobile games where the change goes on the counter and I tried to catch the shyt. I had to walk away and take a break because I was going to claw the cac.

Apparently, he respected my non shyts given and bust it up with me, when he went into my line :francis:

This.
Plates are gone before you even pay. How can she leave 2 tables worth of plates behind like that? Sounds like poor service.

I ain’t stacking shyt. I came here for service and hospitality. That’s what I paid these expensive ass prices for, and thats why you get a good tip. Do your fukking job sheeesh

Exactly, just like they gon strong arm that tip and service fee. They can build up some strong arms by stacking the dishes themselves. If your overworked, how about your employers upgrade the technology. A tablet to put orders in? A intercom like Sonics? A pen so we can write our own order down for faster service?

But nah,I need to lick the plates and stack em to make things easier:respect:

What they should be talking about is the difference in service offered by different generations. Millennials and older in the industry on the whole were professional and customer-focused.

Many in Gen Z in the service industry think customers who come in are there to watch the show of how amazing they and their colleagues are. They will ignore you for a fashionable period of time so they can pretend we are watching with fascination how cool and nonchalant they are. The area behind the counter is an extension of their social media wall to them. When you order something, they can show you how unworthy you are to demand their attention. Their service is an act of charity that is a testament to how good as people they are.

And they only clean up any of your dishes from the table after you leave. When they bring you a new drink, they don't take the old glass back with them. Just based on (extended) personal anecdotal experience. :yeshrug:

They're the reason why we're still living in their basements though. (not me just saying in general)

Thats fine if its within reason.. But don't be upstairs taking pictures of grandmas mess on the table, then go back to the basement and make fun on the internet. Go sleep under a viaduct if y'all on that sh*t..

boomer probably tipped more
My girl who use to be a server said this exact thing when I told her about this thread.

She also said it seems like a propaganda piece, because how does she know it wasn’t cleaned up on the one table because those ppl might be in food serve themselves instead of it just being about gen z vs boomer shyt.

younger people are more likely to work tables in restaurants so they have more empathy for people in those jobs. it's not a generational value thing it's a relatable thing. once those younger people are far removed from those types of jobs as they get older they will be just as messy an unrelatable to the staff.
