I want people in the service industry to make livable wages and be treated properly by their employers, but god damn i'm starting to hate this thing were people think the customer works for them. And i hate even being against servers like that, but damn.

Well for one I'm not in my 50s and I've never felt that term applied to my generation I first heard the term in my 30s so I know it wasn't for us.
