he was stuck in a shytty situation. that crazy run we went on in the 2nd half of whatever it was 2016 or whatever - he was like yea they deserve a chance to run it back.
now idk what contracts he could have negotiated vs what he actually gave out
but they played so well for that stretch that it was like "maybe this can work out"
