Why This Miami Heat Season Has Been an Abject Failure

I think this article perfectly describes our trash ass season outside of a few bright spots.
and it becomes very freaking hard not to believe that penny-pinching has taken precedence over fielding a team that makes any sort of sense.

Is that what “Heat Culture” is now?

Because I thought the culture was about pushing guys to their limits. Working harder than everyone else. Accountability.

That ethos is what made the Heat so respected league-wide.
barz :wow:

Adding some happiness to these topics, I really do think Winslow, Rich, and DJJ are really good players. I also wouldn’t mind keeping Whiteside after his contract was up (If we couldn’t trade him). He’s not a max player but he’s a pretty good one.

These guys do not know how to run a pick and roll. These guys are running right into each other like they never practiced it before :smh:

Richardson has the mid-range and finishing to force defenses to commit but his handle and IQ is a little shaky.

Winslow has great explosiveness, awareness, and decision making but he’s not a threat when blind under screens or when sinking low so he can create for others but struggles at punishing defenses.

Bam sets good screens that can erase defenders but he’s too fast at times. His timing is too erratic and his refusal to even try to shoot makes him one dimensional.

Our spacing is also a little wonky for a pick and roll, especially with JJ out there.

Wade runs that shyt to perfection though.

They’re young though. Running the pick and roll, at an elite level against NBA defenders is hard. They’re improving every year though.
