Who is he getting minutes over honest only person I can see is TJ but we got to play him to get his value up to move him and McGruder I no he isn’t scoring as much as earlier in the season but he is one of the best defenders on the team and Spo loved defense so you no he not benching him

But since Waiters got hurt he pretty much lost his 2 guard spot to JRich and Spo has been pretty happy with him there that he hasn’t really had him playing any SF anymore especially with McGruder being healthy

I remember reading a tweet also that Waiters said he wanted to come back and play point well Winslow taking off at the point means less minutes for him

Hell Ellington hit over 200 plus 3s for us last season and he can’t even get minutes and been getting DNP

Kelly O has had games where he been DNP or got limited minutes

He just going to have to accept the fact right now with this team being so guard heavy that he going to have to fight for minutes and hell even get DNP if someone is having a hot night

Then we haven’t even figure Dragic coming back into this equation

It’s pretty much the same issue we had with Whiteside last season complaining about minutes and dealing with injuries

Spo doesnt care who you are. If you;re coming back from an injury it's gonna take close to 15-20 games before you sniff anywhere near the minutes you used to get before.

Erik Spoelstra stated that Waiters will need to earn his minutes in the rotation.

"Our team is much different than when he left last year, and while his teammates are really here to support him, nobody is volunteering their rotation minutes to him. It'll have to be earned just like everybody else. These concepts of patience and surrendering to the team, whether we want to put expletives in front of it or behind it, those are going to be very important concepts for him to embrace, and I think he will," added Spoelstra.

I think that's fair. However I think he should be getting some of Derick Jones Jr's minutes. I like DJJ's hustle but he doesn't contribute much on offense.
