The song "Old School' is about the influence of rap and history within, which was primarily dominated by New York in the 80's.

Its not titled "I Love Old School New York City" by MC New York.

But go head and make it fit your narrative, bro...its all love.

:gucci:

It's obviously a love letter to NY. The last minute or so of the song is him reminiscing about all the good shyt he remembers in NY. Virtually none of it has to do with music specifically.

I got it misconstrued but he did touch on not wanting to talk about other rappers in his interview. So I guess thats what I was referring to
@bolded that may be the case for some tho, But you got rappers from those groups that are fan and respect him and etc

honestly it all depends on the person.

These some small minded azz niccaz, man.Pac said "Take me out the game, and the next rapper after me ain't gone have no compassion.

he's not going to give a fukk about the community".....These street niccaz minds are chained to the block. They don't really even have the

capacity or depth to speak on Pac.Say what you want about Pac, but that nicca had some cultivation about himself. There was a sense

of global awareness/spirituality to him.A heightened sense of awareness, really. He rolled with the street element because that shyt is inter-

twined in the culture. They move like frats/networks and display masculine principles. Not trying to knock that element.Again, there's potential

there if you can cultivate it.I'm just saying I can understand how a nicca might gravitate towards that crowd seeking a sense of power.

But a lot of these niccaz they're propping up in front of us nowadays don't have the pedigree Pac had. They judge him through the lil lense

of underdeveloped minds. They can't elevate beyond "My block" hood city street etc..etc....The masses are asses, so they eat it up.These

niccaz are off brand.

dude....that song is an ode to New York and New York rappers

C'mon Son...
Its called paying homage.

Treach (his homie) being the only rapper mentioned, not pre-88, the time he was a kid out there before moving to Cali.

Yet never mentions ANY OTHER RAPPERS outside that time frame...

oohh..I wonder why:stopitslime:

Whats even MORE funny is-There's no mention of the words NEW YORK in the title or SONG.

And I STILL identify with everything in the song cept for a few instances.

Because i was RAISED on Hip Hop music.

But, again, let you tell it.

Breh, he shouts out all 5 boroughs literally in the first 5 seconds of the song. The last minute of the song is him just reminiscing about growing up in New York "I remember going places and motherfukkers were scared to say they were from anywhere but Brooklyn"

Its an ode to NY and NY rap lol what is there to argue? Half the song is reminiscing on his childhood IN NY. "I remember way back, the weak weed they had/ too many seeds in the tre bag/I'm on the train headed UPTOWN, freestyling with some wild kids from BUCKTOWN profiling" "through my childhood wild as a juvenile/a young nikka trying to stay away from Rikers Isle(a NY jail)" Its an ode to NY and NY rap.
