they saying anything to give kartel no chance at an appeal. You believe anyone in the Jamaican police force? you must've never been pulled over in Jamaica. most corrupt people out there.[DOUBLEPOST=1397390490][/DOUBLEPOST]and LOL at Kartel being able to inform on badmen in Jamaica and live. You guys are so gullible. Kartel would die in prison so quick. The prison in JA is the worst, overcrowded cells, no proper place to sleep, if Kartel informed he'd be killed without hesitation, and his killer would never be found.

dedicates "INFORMER FI DEAD" by BUJU BANTON to your "life partner" Vybez Kartel (no pun intended)

:mjpls:

"man fi dead........tell dem we nah waste no lead

Journalists have been threatened very recently over Kartel reports.
DEATH threats have been made against the lives of two journalists for their reporting on the Vybz Kartel case.

Jamaica Observer Crime/Court Desk Editor Karyl Walker and Nationwide News Network reporter/producer Abka Fitz-Henley have been identified as the reporters whose lives have been threatened.

Yesterday, Walker received several threatening calls on his cellular phone making reference to yesterday's Sunday Observer lead story that carried no by-line.

"P.... hole, a wah dat yu write bout di man a bran him as informa; wi know weh yu live," the first caller told Walker.

Walker calmly told the caller that the only article he had in the paper was one about problems in Port Royal.

But the caller insisted that it was Walker who wrote the story, saying that he knew his writing style.

The article quoted a source in the police high command as saying that Vybz Kartel had given information to the police that led to the recovery of 17 illegal firearms and the apprehension of several wanted men in the Portmore, St Catherine area. The police source said also that Kartel gave up the information in an effort to avoid being charged with the murder of associate Clive 'Lizard' Williams.

In the case of Fitz-Henley, he was threatened shortly after Nationwide aired the voice notes that were used by the prosecution in convicting the artiste and three co-accused — Shawn 'Shawn Storm' Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John — for Williams' murder.

In the voice notes, a man, whose voice has been attributed to Vybz Kartel could be heard issuing death threats if Williams did not recover two guns that were stolen while in his care.

The explosive voice notes were taken from Vybz Kartel's phone. They were compiled into a 10-minute-long package with musical interludes and narrated by Fitz-Henley.

Yesterday, Nationwide boss and senior journalist Cliff Hughes confirmed the threat against Fitz-Henley.

"We have written to the commissioner of police, formally bringing it to his attention and asking him to investigate and provide the necessary guidance and protection," Hughes told the Observer. The letter to the commissioner was sent off on Friday.

"In two instances last week after we played the voice notes from the trial, Abka got a direct call to his phone telling him to leave Kartel alone, if not all kinda things could happen to him," Hughes said.

He added: "Last Monday morning, the security guard at our front desk received a call from a man demanding to speak with me. When he heard that I wasn't there, he told the security guard to tell Abka to leave — and he used an expletive — Kartel alone because wi know weh him live and wi a go murder di bwoy. We don't know if it is coming from Kartel or from exuberant supporters...."

The journalists aren't the only ones to be threatened as a result of the Vybz Kartel matter.

Sergeant Patrick Linton, the former cybercrime boss, who gave technical evidence in the matter, had received threats and there was an attempt to firebomb his house.

The director of public prosecutions and her team who handled the case also received death threats.

The convicts were sentenced to life imprisonment with Kartel ordered to serve 35 years at hard labour before becoming eligible for parole, Campbell and Jones are to each serve 25 years before the possibility of parole, and St John is to serve 30 years before he's eligible for parole.

Kartels lawyers deny the snitching allegations (There word vs Police source word pick your side)
ATTORNEY Tom Tavares-Finson has denied information in yesterday's Sunday Observer article that outlined that convicted entertainer Vybz Kartel gave the police information that led to the apprehension of wanted men and the recovery of 17 firearms.

The attorney also rubbished claims made by the police that Vybz Kartel was an influential figure in the deadly Spanish Town-based Klansman Gang, and that the gang carried out killings on his behalf.

"That is nothing but further propaganda by the police," said the senior attorney, who described the police's comments as "highly irresponsible".

"The presentation by the Observer yesterday reflected just another attempt by the police and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to prejudice the appeal of Mr Palmer," Tavares-Finson said.

"We note that the source of the information is reported as being anonymous, but we recognise the hand of a particular individual at the Corporate Communication Network," Tavares-Finson added.

The article said that Vybz Kartel (real name Adidja Palmer) had met with the police to give them information when he realised that detectives were closing in on him for the murder of associate Clive 'Lizard' Williams, in August 2011, over the disappearance of two illegal firearms.

"No meeting was ever held between Mr Palmer and any police officer nor was Mr Palmer ever asked by any police officer to give them any information. That is a lie," the attorney said, as he disputed other assertions made in the front page article.

Additionally, Tavares-Finson noted that the article reported the police source as saying that the police had evidence that was not used in the five-week trial. He said he's hearing about the so-called further evidence for the first time, and that the director of public prosecutions should say why that evidence wasn't put before the court.

Vybz Kartel, Shawn 'Shawn Storm' Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John have been sentenced to life imprisonment for Williams' murder. They are to serve 35, 30 and 25 years behind bars before being eligible for parole.

Yesterday, Tavares-Finson told the Observer that the men have signed their appeal documents which are to be filed with the Court of Appeal.

"We are confident that we will, regardless of the machinations of the police, get a fair hearing at the Court of Appeal," Tavares-Finson said.

Vybz Kartel Family Now In Fear
THE family of incarcerated entertainer Adidja 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer say they are now in fear for their lives following yesterday's revelation by the police that the convicted deejay gave the cops the whereabouts of several St Catherine wanted men and additional information that led to the recovery of 17 illegal firearms.

According to a police source, the information provided by Kartel before he was arrested was an attempt to ensure his freedom or to obtain a reduced sentence.

It was also revealed in the story that the entertainer was an influential member of the much-feared Spanish Town gang, Klansman, and that the gang carried out murders for the artiste.

However, yesterday, Kartel's family said they were very upset at the report, saying the information was news to them and that it had put their lives in danger.

"This is endangering the lives of Adidja Palmer's family, his siblings, and his girlfriend, when a news like this come on the radio and we don't know if it is credible, we don't know the source... and they don't think about how it is affecting our lives," said Palmer's eldest sister, Maureen Nelson.

"Right now I am in fear of my life, 'Shorty' (Kartel's children's mom) is in fear of her life, the children and all of my brothers and sisters," she added.

"Everybody is now crying. We thought that when he got sentenced to life in prison it would be over. But that is not the end, it is the beginning," Nelson said.

She said their fear was justified, given the "informer culture" that exists in the country.

Nelson said they were not sure about how the public had taken the news, but that the family was concerned that their relative would be branded an informer.

"We are locked up in the house right now. We have fears of reprisals and I don't even know how John public will react to us," she said.

Kartel's mother, Teresa Palmer, expressed anger at the police and Police Commissioner Owen Ellington for stating last week that her son was the leader of a gang that was responsible for more than 100 murders.

"When him a go come and a seh how much people Kartel kill and that never come out in the trial, him not doing him job," she said.

"Why now when dem done tell lie seh him kill man and dem no find no body and police tamper with the evidence and give him life sentence dem a go seh all these things?" Palmer asked. "Why are all these things coming out now?"

"Why it never come out inna the trial?" she further asked.

Nelson said the media needed to be mindful of what it reports and whether or not the information is credible and how it will affect the family.

Vybz Kartel, Shawn 'Shawn Storm' Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones were convicted on April 3 for the August 16, 2011 beating death of Clive 'Lizard' Williams over the disappearance of two illegal guns. Accused Shane Williams was acquitted at the end of the five-month-long trial before Justice Lennox Campbell.

FULL STATEMENT FROM VYBZ KARTEL:

It was brought to my attention this morning by a member of my legal team
that a number of persons including journalists have reported receiving
threats from persons purportedly acting on my behalf.

During my sentencing hearing my Attorney Tom Tavares-Finson indicated
to the court that I hold no ill-will to any of the persons involved in my trial
neither the Police, Prosecutors, Executives from Digicel and certainly not
any member of the Media who covered my trial in a manner which exposed
the weaknesses in the Prosecution's case for all the world to see.

I reiterate the position "I hold no ill-well [sic] to anyone who was involved in
my trial" and I put my faith in the judicial system and the appeal process on
which we have now embarked.

I appeal to any misguided individual or individuals who may think it
appropriate to seek to threaten or intimidate anyone, to stop it.

Such action is not helping me or my fellow appellants and is playing into the hands of the Police and others who are seeking to discredit me and prejudice the fair hearing of my appeal.

In the meantime I thank my family, friends and fans who continue to support
and have faith in me.

Signed: Adidja Palmer

Didn't personally address the informa alligation. Tells people to stop threatening others, kartels made similar statement in the past but I think he mean it this time considering he's going for appeal

oh...so typical rapper :snoop:

giphy.gif

the whole fukking genre which KARTEL has led for the past few years has mutated into a yankee materialist spoof of RAP MUSIC...

it's disgusting :snoop:

Dancehall Reggae use to be my alternative choice to hip hop...I loved the conviction of their voices....and their Third World social experiences which made me realize black people got it bad everywhere even in the carribean....along with the unique talent homegrown or as Bounty say..."down inna di ghetto where di poor nah haff a ting!!"

but somehow along the way Globilism along with American influences ....caused Dancehall reggae to lose it's identity...and it's reflected in the culture....

yardman wearing tight jeans....all the tattoos and yankee slang...shyt I recently even dated one 20 something year old west indian chick who COULDN'T COOK....like I couldn't fukking believe it...a YARD WOMAN who couldn't cook a dish!!!?!?!?! :mindblown:

and along with the culture came the lost of IDENTITY and the STRUCTURE.......Kartel became a problem cause a vacum was created when dem a lock up all the dons or force them outta thier livelihood and some bosses lost their lives in the early 2000's......due to the intervention of INTERPOL (tlache international police) and Scotland Yard.

man like George "Pepa" Phang...Chubby Dread (RIP)....Zeekes...Willie Haggart (RIP) and di whole Black Roses Massive (Bogle..Ice) as well as Fadda Fowl up inna England.

so then you have fools like Kartel "hotstepping" in their absence... :snoop:

when he along with all other deejays were warned by Commisioner Ellington to CEASE with the fukkery of trying to be a DON simply because you go a foreign ..got money and have tremendous influence over di youth..

but nooooooooooo.......he ain't wanna listen.......just like Patrick Roach's friend say he just was infatuated with the BAD MAN / DON imagery....

just like these rappers whom love to blur the lines between rapper and kingpin.....

"minus all the videos , stickers and flyers..most of these rappers are compulsive liars"
