Never had that be a problem in my dating life. Its a small part of who I am. I just dont date the overzealous religious types and keep it moving. I stay away from the, "I'll pray for you" people and it works for me.

If that's the case, why do black atheists always say they have trouble dating black women?

Because religion is a sensitive and highly emotional subject to these women, you gotta deliver the logic with finesse and alot of black atheists have a lot of lingering mental damage you eventually have to get over, so they approach the topic without the necessary finesse to get these women up outta their devil worship. Once you get a little older and over what these people did to your mental and can properly manage these discussions, if the female really digs you either she'll stop talking about it or snap out of it herself.

There’s some internet rule that goes along the lines of “If you think it, it exists on the internet.” Maybe I’m confusing it with Rule 34 (If you think it, there’s porn of it). But ultimately, I’ve always thought of the internet as a haven for the congregating of niche and segmented voices and a market of hawk-eyed entrepreneurs willing to serve them. So it was much to my surprise that on some random whim, I Googled “black atheist dating sites” and came up with ... zilch—a dearth of recent content.

hilarious.

What I did find was like a barren field scattered with abandoned Blogspot posts from 2009 to 2012. WordPress graveyards, old podcasts, small forums and Reddit convos largely expressing exhaustion about being a black atheist trying to date other black people—most of them from men, a particular one aptly titled, “Can Atheist Brothas be blamed for looking outside their race for other atheist women?” while another posited, “Black women would rather date a drug dealer than a black male atheist.”

Lemme add. Some of these dudes are not even really atheist. People call anyone who does not adhere to Abrahamic religions atheist. Or anyone who does not adhere to any popular belief systems and\or ideologies. They just despise the apocryphal Abrahamic idea of god so much, that they are disgusted with the idea of God in general. They have been jaded because of skewed paradigm

Its a huge problem for black male atheists. Ask us/them.

Black women are THE most religious demographic in the country. Hands down.

You're literally accepting that your GF/Wife would be religious unless they're REALLY open minded towards religion.

Even the most liberal ones tend to still be somewhat religious.

I wouldn't consider myself an atheist but I don't have a set belief. I guess you can say that's being agnostic (i really don't know)

I keep that to myself, when it comes to women, tho. Just go with the flow. Good preachers always drop jewels regardless of what you believe in, so I don't mind going to church.

I understand. It is easier for me to find a BM who is agnotistic/atheist to date. My Black female friends are mostly very religious and know I am not a believer. I think they are ok with it bc they arent trying to date me. I have seen plenty of them turn BM down who arent religious. Sometimes even for me it can be offputting when my friends get all sanctimonious, so Im aware its prolly more difficult for y'all.
