i think people keep coming back to this shytty system because they dont have an alternative system to go to, or cant visualize an alternative system.
i think if you gave the average person a choice between this society and something better a lot of them would choose something better.
what exactly do you mean by the bold?
there would definitely be dissent within the military. i dont think the american military would be able to go martial law on the american people because too many soldiers would join the people. i do think however that it could be outsourced to a foreign army with no ties or sympathy for american people, say China or Russia.
also in the back of my mind is the "irobot" scenario... because these war machines are getting more and more sophisticated.
but... although both scenarios are plausible i dont think it will come to that. i think this social transformation is going to be a lot slower and less violent than people thought.
my question is, what do you think it will take for the average person to take this more seriously, and really make it a priority? what will it take for certain people to not be so apathetic and instead take significant action towards reforming government? For example, attending a town hall meeting once a week, participating in organized mass visits to city councilmen and congressmen offices, give time and energy, donate money, etc...
Your final question is what I meant by "The SunRoof in Plato's Cave." We can only lead and teach by example. But it also coincides with
i think if you gave the average person a choice between this society and something better a lot of them would choose something better.
This is what they need. There is great business in the Revolution. Once must be able to see the problems and build a sustainable, evolving business upon the solutions. Imagine a business that helps people start their own business and sees them through with it until they are self-sufficient. Kind of like that show Bar Rescue. I'm not saying the 30+ have wasted their lives completely, its that by properly adjusting their perspective to a different reality, they would be able to find and create their own personal world, which will inspire others to do the same, little by little. It it the reason why we are on this forum, why some people are on twitter. The world is very open to my generation, we're looking to take advantage of it. I truly believe people are becoming tired of the government's bullshyt. Through self-sufficiency we wouldn't need to be governed, so much. We all need to be able to take personal responsibility and to reap and share those benefits in a way where we are able to share with our people, not for personal greed, but because we want to kill the system. We will become rich in the process. If your not, your doing it wrong.
In fact, if you want to stay ahead of the curve try to find ways were you can train and employ people to be self-sufficient, self employed, etc The more your partner succeeds on their own, they can also network their consumers towards you and vice versa. I think with all the social networking available, we are turning to a more humanized, individual centered society. Not to say that the group isn't important. But the Individual in all his uniqueness is what will be valued in the future. Imagine everyone truly chasing their full potential in whatever capacity that might be.
This is what a school SHOULD be. Once a student graduates, they are able to face the world on their own. Not look for a job or a place to become a pawn. But be able to start their own business from there. I don't even like the word student, your a student all your life. You never stop learning, once you think you know it all, that is where you stay losing.
Dr. Thomas Szasz had some OG quote about how when your Self Sufficient you don't care about having power and authority over others. Saw it on facebook. That was my whole argument summed up in 2-3 sentences
