Northern VA peeps were mainly agnostic and didn't turn out. The vibes I'm getting is they are coming out to bush him and everybody he rides with come next election.
Gays are a red herring. Youngkins objections are around "divisive concepts" and "CRT". Queer shyt isn't even mentioned. Look at FL Roberto Clemente book ban. Nothing to do with gays. They banned that book because he talked about RACISM. Even if it was about queers, black queer people exist. We supposed to just not address the fact that Bayard Rustin and James Baldwin were gay?

His executive orders last as long as he is the governor. He will most likely be replaced with a Democrat next election because that is how my state rolls. Back and Forth Red to Blue To Red and so on because Virginia is Purple at heart.
Much of my family teach our history to our children. We know not to depend on a system and people who are fond of using our history and issues to "Trojan Horse" their own into the public. So I am not a supporter of the inclusion of Queer, Intersectional, etc studies in Black American studies. I rather we teach it ourselves without other groups using the system to hijack our history.
They can create their own courses without using my people as mules for their agendas.

Say, just for example, we've been consistently voting for Democrats for a long time and, JUST HYPOTHETICALLY, they've been letting Republicans do whatever they want. Like, hypothetically, a Republican president tried to overthrow democracy. And the Dems just kind of let him wander off to Florida instead of putting him in prison. Just a hypothetical scenario. Not something that would happen in real life.

We're talking about AP African-American studies not a book ban.
This news report specifically cited Qeer IIdentity and DeSantis administration specifically cited Intersectionality along with CRT when it flagged the same course. Again, I don't have a problem with CRT.
I understand that there are many notable gay black people, but surely there are notable gay people in the Spanish, German, Japanese and European cultures aswell. So back to my original question; why isn't Intersectionality and Queer Identity taught as a part of those AP courses too?
The book ban happened because of the same law used to ban the AP class.
Yes, he cited those concepts because he knows they are chum for reactionaries. Intersectionality is part of Critical Theory. I don't see how any advanced social studies class can run without some use of intersectionality.
The Spanish, German, etc courses are fundamentally language courses, not history or social studies courses.
