A few points:

• There is no way of knowing at this (until this goes to trial), but it sounds like she was probably doing something similar (pay for play) before meeting Vince. Lawsuit claims she was stricken with grief and essentially unemployable before they met but she somehow maintained a residence in the same building. A lot of these girls get introduced and passed around based on trust.
• As suspected, Vince basically created a shadow position in the legal department (a common tactic) to justify keeping her around as a prostitute.
