A "good thread" about a song glorify drug use to the black youth:dead:

:russ: these people really don't notice that these rappers rap about the SAME exact thing on every record. selling drugs, using drugs, dying young, killing blacks, robbing blacks, hating blacks, consuming european luxuries including cars, clothes and even women...:mjpls:

Every.Single.Song.

:russell: someone without fail will mention kendrick and cole for being "conscious" disregarding ross, wayne, ti, future, young thug, troy ave, meek, travis scott, fetty, nicki, RHQ, french montana, jeezy, to name a few.

I keep seeing the word "militant" being used. Is a "militant" someone who would like to see more positive and uplifting sounds and images of black people? Is a "militant" someone who would like to see normal and intelligent black people given the same platform as the thugs and savages? Is a "militant" someone who understands that modern-day hiphop is being used as a weapon for white supremacy? What do they mean by "militant"? Is being a "militant" a good or bad thing?:jbhmm:

im actually more interested in why yall are so AGAINST positivity and upliftment in the black community. I understand that this board is 70% non-black so that explains alot. But to the supposedly black posters: why does the mentioning of positive sounds and images regarding the black community make yall so mad? Are we that brainwashed to where we dont think we deserve to see and hear positive messages about ourselves?:ld:

For all this talk of negative music..

The top 3 with the biggest fanbase, sales etc are Drake , Cole and Kendrick :jbhmm:

The two conscious rappers have the biggest fanbases :jbhmm:

@Barnett114 its so weird breh :patrice:the most positive rappers also happen to currently be the most successful :jbhmm:

Not to mention LeCrae, a Christian rapper, outsold Rick Ross last year and had a #1 album and has been featured on many BET cyphers

You're unknowingly proving my point.

The more "aware" we become, the more that rap that glorifies killing each other and drug use will be shunned

The more pride and knowledge we gain as a people, the less we will want to hear the filth and poison.

#TheShift is happening:blessed:

We are awakening.:blessed:

Those of you who are pro black genocide music are in the minority.:umad:

Real hiphop will return as we "awaken" as a people. :blessed:

so by that logic, would you say eminem is more influential to hip hop culture than jay-z, since he has the highest rap sales? :jbhmm:
