You can see the one ripping his helmet off while another beats him with his own baton. So then watch the video and about the time the guy yells "Get 'em!" you can see them pulling the cop's body down at the staircase and you can see a bunch of them beating at the ground with flagpoles and the crutches and anything they can get their hands on. Then you can see them try to pull the cop further down the stairs. You can see them pass his helmet around too.
Disgraceful actions by his fellow cops, they should have unloaded rounds into that whole crowd. Thought they had each other's back
