Katt Williams is a prime example of a somewhat talented man who thought he deserved more than he got and while all of that was happening he forgot to take care of his mental health. Bitterness is ugly, but Katt can still be pretty funny on the stage :manny:

In reality what "selling your soul" is, is the same as "not being difficult to work with" or "playing the game", or just "selling out", lol. Now, it is true that not everyone had to stop being a$$holes or themselves to become succesful, but Ludacris is a great example of someone who has "played the game" his entire career. I get why Katt Williams is mad about that, but in 2024 you don't have to rely on Hollywood and "the illuminati", just start your own damn podcast and put out a youtube special and people are gonna watch and listen to your shyt if it's good enough.

The problem is Katt seems to still think it's the 90s and you have to go through Hollywood to be succesful, he was also talking about Kevin Hart being a "plant" which is a hilariously bad take. Even if you hate his comedy, listen to anyone who was coming up with Kevin Hart, he put in the work to become the comedian he is now.

Huh. The original had a 50M bugdget and made 200 mill

And he like exaggerated the 200M $ figure. But it’s not far fetched. There are no accidents, since they went on to make 15 movies it’s plausible, really likely, that they made the original with a franchise in mind
Thr fast films were a struggle franchise before 5 breh.

This doesn’t seem hard to grasp: A studio exec likely was offering the role in the 2 Fast 2 Furious series, with upside of making 200M in its duration, but they told them hey we runnin a serious shop over here cut that goofy shyt off your head and lose the Mouskeeter beards
John Singleton explained years ago that he offered the role to Luda after Ja Rule refused to take his calls. The plan was for Ja's role to be expanded, he didn't want to do it so John went to Luda and the character was changed to Tej.

This was him in the movie which came out in 2002 he still had the braids and sideburns.

He wasn't even in the 3rd or 4th movies and didn't come back to the franchise until 2011. So how was someone in a small role getting offered upwards to $200M?

Yeah, exactly

They didn't exactly have foresight the franchise would become mission Impossible with cars by part 2 :russ:

Well shyt then he just lying about the hair then :heh:

My point was the ‘story’ could be plausible when you cut off the fat.

1- Katt just calls ’Illuminati’ for any type of infrastructure. That was likely just a studio head.

2- Yes, it is believable that at some point someone told BOTH of them they look ridiculous and to get more/better roles they should switch up. He made it sound like they asked to drink his blood

3- The 200M figure is exaggerated but I say it’s not far fetched bc imagine you’re pitching an actor on the first marvel film. You could realistically say ‘you COULD make 50,100M over this franchise’s duration’.

Ludacris’ role was likely marginalized after the fact bc he’s Ludacris. He’s not an actor, he’s not funny, etc. You put Katt Williams in that role and maybe he does become Kevin Hart. Which goes to Kevin hart’s point , KATT fukked up Katt.

But after the first movie, there was no way the plan was for this to be some long ass franchise.

Marvel was signing people up for 4-6 films/tv appearances up front with the promise of a big deal for the 2nd one.

They weren't doing this on Fast 2.

Everyone knows how Ludacris got the role in the Fast & Furious franchise and it didn’t involve a summoned illuminati meeting over tea & crumpets so Katt and Luda could race to see who could cut their hair off faster.

Lets not be idiots here. Katt was CLEARLY doing a bit there
Plus luda had the sideburns in the movie lmao

Again we are not addressing the main issue, why would you make a rap song about your jewels and not defend your wife after someone called her a plant or the situation of how u got your wife? This is really a weak move for Luda and he really should have addressed this like a real dude instead of an industry dude
