After seeing that video, I understand the cohesion between the 2 verses

Crypto Scarface vs Angel Investor

Silicon Valley money mixed with Henny vs Circular ice on Japanese Whiskey

I'm from the ghetto, what location, 2 seconds from the Devil vs I'm a Project baby, fck y'all expect from me, you killed Christ, created a new religion, unexpectedly

By the time I spit this I started another business vs Intermittent fasting but these mils I'm not missing none
When you put the bars next to each other like that it makes it seem like they were playing off each other’s lines

The problem with the song is that its overproduced.

Theres way too much going on between the actual beat, the background singer's and vocals, the slow breakdown after every verse. Plus all the changes throughout Jay and Nas verse. Theres just too much involved and it doesnt make for an easy listen.

Exactly. that why I don't want a nas jay album. Their style is so opposit it's hard to find a common ground beat wise because their cadence is so different.

It's like every track they're in they act like two great boxers who are on observation round mode.

I think it would have worked more if it was a posse cut and other rappers kicked in. That would allows them to unleash the horses.

Next time it would be interresting to hear them on a storytelling track too. Enough of the celebratory thing

I could do without them collaborating. Had they done so in the late 90's it would've been crazy but they both lost a step and don't really seem motivated so the lack of chemistry is all the more glaring.

I think Jay shoulda hopped on a 27 Summers remix honestly. That woulda been WAY more fire. And they both coulda ate on it.
Man just keep giving me nas and hit boy. Imagine if they put jay on the epmd beat instead of this bullshyt

interesting viewpoints,
however, i dont think their intentions were trying to go "off" and its not "their" individual projectwhere they trying to show and prove or trying to make a point.. its feels more like a celebratory victory lap chill vibe " with some nostalgia feel compared to whats happening now" and lets appreciate the moment vibe. i think some hardcore real rap fans on Coli over analyze the song concept and wanted more from them, naturally they wanted to hear them "lyrically spazz" on the mic with sweat on their faces.
im happy that i notice many younger folks on youtube loving the song i guess the slow flow non mumble rap and slow jam beat with the vibe that stands out from the typically stuff of whats playing now on radio and allowed the kids got a chance to hear and appreciate the witty bars or "teasers" of what Nas and Jay can do as a quick reminder to folks.

Also, from a marketing standpoint, it doesnt really serve nas or jayz a reason to lyrically go crazy not the goal of the song. its not "their" song. its to me a song of " just letting folks know we still around just making my rounds vibe".

The song is just weak. All that over analyzing isn't necessary.
