The media is ALWAYS looking for the next big thing.
The hype machine been looking for the next Jordan since Jordan’s second retirement.
For a while, it was Kobe and I still think he’s the closest thing to Jordan the league has seen since Jordan.
LeBron James was the most hyped up prep athlete I’ve ever seen in my lifetime coming out of high school this little hype Victor is getting pales in comparison to what LeBron got. There were beat writers saying LeBron was good enough to play in the NBA as a sophomore in high school. I remember ESPN airing his high school games a good two years before he ever played professionally.
LeBron actually lived up to the hype. Now LeBron is in the sunset of his career it seems and now it’s time for them to start looking for the next big thing again.
Grown azz men hating on a 19 year old kid ain’t where it’s at though.
A few things to unpack here
Why we keep using the media cop out? I could see if it was Skip Bayless being the lone one saying Tebow is going to shine... But all these other prospects were said to be the next one by current and former scouts, players, coaches, execs and owners.. They ain't just make this shyt up. San Antonio didn't get fooled by the media. They did their work like every other team and came to the same conclusion. So when it doesn't work out, you can't flip back and blame media as if they alone was saying it.
Are we not allowed to talk about any draftee? "Why y'all hating?" Who's hating? People are assessing what they see and making predictions. Nobody was hating on Zion when they said he was too damn heavy and would probably stay injured. And now he's staying injured, people are saying "I knew it.. They should have picked someone else." How's that hate? I don't see anybody wishing anything bad on him. Just saying they don't see the lock best prospect ever.
We talking about sports and y'all really on some "don't think a player isn't as good as everyone says or that means you hate him and wish he fails"
