What a terrible comp

Rookie Giannis was better than Emoni at this age

:heh:
Gotdamn nggas get obtuse thirsty for daps

That’s not a ‘comp’. It’s a simple point to show ‘farther ahead’ is an antiquated term it means absolutely nothing. Players rate of improvement is not the same

No one is saying that Wemby is gonna suck.. a lot of people think he's gonna be really good

It's just the narrative around him before all this made it seem like his offensive game was MUCH further along than it is right now. He's a project on that end of the floor.. has the tools to be special, but as of now it's a lot of "in 2-4 years"
He's not a project offensively and this ppst will look foolish once the season starts.

Go on the record with your take. Your post is ambiguous and seems like you'll claim which ever way the story turns out.
Wemby will be everything but a bust. :mjlit:
This sh*t is like watching people trash a young MJ on the earliest internet mailing groups. They're really out here trying to say the soon-to-be best player of all time can't play. :dead:
:whoa:

He'll be an all time great for sure though

It’s way to early to tell on breh I’m not sure why some of y’all so anxious to see him fail.
100% sports medias fault.

They've been hyping this dude up like hes Durant, LeBron, and Curry combined. I don't think folks want to see him actually fail, they just want the hype to come back down to earth on some, "Show me instead of telling me" shyt. Unfortunately, some people will steer their annoyance towards him instead of that hype machine that's beating everybody over the head.

The media is ALWAYS looking for the next big thing.

The hype machine been looking for the next Jordan since Jordan’s second retirement.

For a while, it was Kobe and I still think he’s the closest thing to Jordan the league has seen since Jordan.

LeBron James was the most hyped up prep athlete I’ve ever seen in my lifetime coming out of high school this little hype Victor is getting pales in comparison to what LeBron got. There were beat writers saying LeBron was good enough to play in the NBA as a sophomore in high school. I remember ESPN airing his high school games a good two years before he ever played professionally.

LeBron actually lived up to the hype. Now LeBron is in the sunset of his career it seems and now it’s time for them to start looking for the next big thing again.

Grown azz men hating on a 19 year old kid ain’t where it’s at though.

I watch Wemby play, then I watch Chet play... and honesty to me the difference on the offensive end is pretty apparent. Chet is FAR more refined as an offensive player, and seems to have some "dog" in him against summer league guys. Isn't afraid of contact, and even throws a couple of tough hard box outs

His defensive impact is honestly pretty close to what Wemby's is. If I had to pick a guy right now who I'm more impressed with, it's Chet

I mean, at this point Chet has had more NBA-level training and I’m assuming he got some chances after his injury to maybe practice with some other players

Who roots for a 19 yr old to fail? :mjcry:

I got kids to feed. I’m just tryna feed my family :damn:

That’s how y’all sound gettin sensitive over criticism instead of just refuting it.

That 19 year old kid wants millions of dollars. In what world are u going to get that without adversity?

We just suppose to buy into the hype cause he’s young?:heh:

If that’s the case, everybody’s the next Bron.

I’ll believe in him when i feel he shows me i should.

Crying at the draft, being french, and gettin bullied in his first summer league game is what’s working against him right now.

Like bro sed, he’s Bol Bol with elite security guards until proven otherwise.

If he develops into what the hype is saying, then all the things i listed against him will be reasons i rock wit him
