Yao Ming wasn’t a bust.
Motherfukker avg 19, 9 and 1 at 7'5.. Couldn't even average 10 rebounds or 20 points as the first pick in the draft... He played a whopping 7 years.. and 492 games.. His career went like this... 82 games, 82 games, 80 games, 57, 48, 55, 77

That's not a BUST.. But ehhhhhhh... I wouldn't waste my first pick on that return

When people pick a number one, they are thinking of transcendent players... Someone who is going to come in and be all world... For decades... Bron, Kareem, Magic, Duncan, AI, Hakeem, Robinson..... Not just another guy or very good... Motherfukking GREAT

Yao was great, just injury prone. Houston made so much money off Yao they stil rock with the Chinese inspired logo to this day :mjlol:

Number one just means the best player available in that year's draft.

But Yao was also playing year-round, which lead to his injuries. He wasn't a bust, and shot like 55% from field, so he was using his height for something...but he was definitely one of those new era Cs...that are shytty rebounders and shotblockers.

Who gonna be the first player to dunk on him?.....Zion?

Memphis ownership probably just sent the bounty notice to Ja. Giannis, Aaron Gordon, and Ant Edwards will probably catch him sleep too. Still the player I’m most hyped to watch this summer league

Let me say again. I never said he was a bust. But to play 7 years is not what’s expected of a first pick. To be injury prone is not what’s expected of a first pick.

Zion is very good. He made them money. He never plays so it don’t matter. Victor better avg bout 60-70 games a season

Dude is obviously going to get dunked on. He’s still hasn’t grown into his body and is 19 years old. Him and Chet are gonna get bullied every once in a while by vets, it is what it is.

But to be a grown ass man like OP and bank/pray on a young dude to fail at his career all for some internet props is some lame ass shyt. You nikkas who make these threads are some real life losers forreal.

The amount of money that man generated from the Asian market was WELL worth the investment :mjtf: it's still a business, you're not making that kinda bread with any other non champion player

i'm just going off past precedent for players his size. if the media didn't hype him up so much i'd have less reason to make a thread, but once you start throwing around better prospect than lebron when we know the track record of players this size... i'm not buying it.

and also fukk the spurs i don't care :pacspit:

The only issue that will limit him is injuries.

The Spurs will rest him (load management) on back end of b2b games and fans who bought tickets will get upset.

Who cares? We talking about being a bust. I never, in the history of the nba, EVER heard someone say “you know he made them a lot of money so it was a good pick”

What's weird is that if you had a time machine, the only other person you would take in that draft other than Yao was Amare and his career was effectively over after 7 full seasons also
