3 folks did exactly that :snoop:

I dapped it because at a year later, she has to recognize that at this point no one cares about his legacy more than her, if at all...especially not Big Corp. Expecting someone to honor her wishes, hell or even acknowledge them is unrealistic...just like every other celebrity. She's upset that the shoes were leaked/unveiled/worn/displayed is a moot point, because they were gonna come out one way or another. And someone was gonna have them, and wear them before she got a pair.

She will grieve at her own pace, but she does have to separate it from business going forward.

Honestly, even a lot of his fans could care less about his legacy and only want the sneaker because of the hype and profit that comes from it. If they did care, they wouldn’t have waited until his death to start buying them.

She’s making business decisions personal.

If the idea of the shoe was created during the terms of their original contract then she has no case. Unfortunately, it belongs to Nike. That's Business 101 when it comes to contracts.

Her best bet is to hope that the PR hit causes Nike to reconsider their decision. Even then, it's too late as the shoe is already out there and that's more than likely not even the only pair.

I’d be pissed as hell if Nike is making money of my dead daughter

That’s basically what I was saying one one knows or loves Kobe and Gigi like she does. The world isn’t going to cater to her every demand. Nike hasn’t done anything they weren’t supposed to all they trying to do is profit.

do you honestly think the opinion you're sharing is needed/necessary/relevant? no disrespect intended.

she will get over it when she's ready to. in the meantime she has the right to grieve, and to defend her husband's and her daughter's legacy in whatever manner she sees fit. because they were her husband, and her daughter. not yours, or mine, or anyone else's. you stating that she's going to have to let go eventually is obvious and unneeded.

no shyt she'll have to let go eventually. but that's her call.

in the meantime, if she wants to put nike and their manufacturing partners on front street for playing games with kobe's legacy, that's her right too.
I’m not saying she needs to get over it but she has to realize life goes on for everybody else she can’t keep releasing statements every time something she doesn’t like happens while dealing with Nike. If she wants her daughter off I can understand that but if those shoes were made under contract then :yeshrug:

So Cal
Middleton wore those shoes in the game, and there are people under the tweets saying some stores sold em.

I saw a bunch of shoe sites talking about these shoes releasing so I wont be surprised if some pairs were produced
She's definitely in her right to feel some type of way then.

They don't need her approval though, unless she owns those trademarks.

They don't but it is about PR war, she won't win in court but she can definitely stop them through PR. Would be a horrible look for Nike to go through with these without her permission, a shoe that involves her daughter. It does not make sense for them to fight this. I am sad it got this ugly because I had hope the two sides would agree to a deal later on

Not a good look for Nike if she is correct and they said the shoes weren't approved and would not be sold.

Makes them look classless. The PR hit would be ugly.

They will definitely lose the PR battle. It's a horrible look

how long people should mourn, how they mourn, or whether it's ok to go head up with nike over their family's affairs, is none of your business. the end.

Even if they weren't approved, then it's still their idea as it was crafted under the terms of the business agreement. Now what they choose to do with those ideas is a completely different discussion which potentially opens them to a PR hit.

Tbh, I don't think people care enough for this to be a big pr hit.

It's gaining traction in the national media. I do find it a bit disingenuous in that we see Nike and other sneakers released all the time and months in advance. Even sample sneakers are ended up on resale websites. This situation isn't nothing new and is a product of the sneaker culture that's out here today.

Honestly, I feel like it's a combination of grief being influenced by the hype of sneaker culture and the demand for his sneakers after his death that's influencing her outrage. A lot of the anger that she's seeing about Kobe sneakers not being available is more so a product of hype rather than everyone actually wanting them. If they did, then those sneakers wouldn't have been sitting on bargain bin websites and outlets before his death.
